According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the Cape Canaveral mishap was not an explosion but a "fast fire."

yes. This seems instant from a human perspective, but it really a fast fire, not an explosion. Dragon would have been fine.

On Thursday, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blew up on the launch pad, shaking nearby buildings and spewing smoke into the sky

It’ll get better.
Some Viagra and the launch tower itself will be all better.

I am not defending Musk, I’m defending the truth. You were wrong to say he didn’t have his own money at risk and neglect to mention that the $465 million loan was paid off years ago. A gentleman and scholar would thank me for the assist rather than getting upset and calling me a zombie.

No insurance on the Facebook satellite. None, and I doubt there was any on the Falcon 9.

Deflagration goes whoosh—detonation goes boom! Supersonic pressure wave as evidence of explosion in the video. NASA personnel 2 miles away ran out of their office spaces in response to shaking buildings.

The strong-back has pincers which encircle the rocket at many points top-to-bottom. This arrangement briefly supported the payload and fairing above the initiation point of the event.

The apparent detonation appears to have originated between the umbilical connection of the second stage, and the strong-back supporting the piping.

I went through the Youtube video frame by frame and this is the first one to show the fire/explosion.

Back in the 50’s one of the chairman of the NYC transit Authority would try and downplay any mishaps in the subway system, such as referring to a train collision as a “hard coupling”. Or a derailment as a “misaligned wheel”.

Chevy Corvairs and old Harleys were prone to engine leaks. People who own them would say, they’re not leaking they’re just marking their spots :)

The rocket is a goner. Splitting hairs as to why is retarded.

Sure, why should we bother trying to figure out why things happen?
