I posted this article to FB with this preface: As cogent a summary of this election as I've seen. Upon reading, my progressive/liberal friends should be grinning with glee and my conservative friends should be engaging in some serious soul searching. I hope as fellow countrymen we all seriously consider the current state of affairs and the fork in the road. The metaphorical balloon payment on our country is coming due soon; how best to survive it. Worth the read.

Long article. All one needs to know is this: At least 42% of the people support Hillary. To support such an obvious monster in any manner much less with this many people shows how far down the road to perdition this country has gone.

...then they must believe—mustn’t they?—that we are headed off a cliff.

Hence my move to central KY from Seattle in 2011.

I’m not as sanguine about our chances as the author. I agree with his final paragraph. It’s why I am were I am.

As I said in 2008, the problem is not the candidate. The problem is the electorate.

This is exactly how I look at this election. I know Trump isn’t a Conservative and I have very serious doubts about him, but I know Hillary will destroy this country. So once again I have to hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils. So Trump it is. It’s pathetic that out of the 17 Republican candidates, none of them were worth a damn. None of them were Conservatives. Once again we were handed a crap sandwich with nothing to wash it down.

At stake is half the Supreme Court who will rule for a generation.

As others have noted, the problem isn’t the nimrod in the White House, its half the American people who think he and the Clintons are the cat’s meow. And that can’t be fixed by winning one election.

The 80 million foreign born “legal” and illegal immigrants in the USA vote for socialism/Hillary. That's why we are in the mess we are in .

Google it. It's true. America was America until 1965 . then the democrats invited the 3rd world poor to more to America vote for socialism/big government welfare and democrats. Most immigrants after 1965 were poor people from the 3rd world. They don't vote for conservatism, Republicans , nor for limited government , no they vote for socialism . this was the plan in the 1965 immigrantion act. and it's worked so far,

All politicians are owned by rich globlalist donors.

Only Trump is not owned which is why only Trump has said anything about how China is ripping off the USA.

Trump is the only one that can be trusted as the rest are corrupt lying politicians who will say anything to get elected but have done nothing good for America, Americans nor for conservatism.

what in the last 30 years has any politician done that is good for America , conservatism, or for Americans? not a damn thing because they are ALL a bunch of lying corrupt weasels out to line their pockets.I'm being kind cause they are just a bunch of whores

Trump said it. to the media elites and politicians the main problem facing America is that 11 million undocumented immigrants don't have legal status (or something like that), not China.

Trump is the only hope for America

“Conservatve,” for too long, has been defined as having had a job in the Reagan administration or a Reaganite think tank or journal.

Trump’s cry of “I want to live” defines who is a conservative now.

As the libertarians used to say: When there is no alternative, there’s no problem.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m voting for Trump I’m just not completely sold on him. With that being said, I would vote for my dog before I voted for Hillary.

The last time the stakes were near this high, there was a failed one-term Georgia governor in the White House.

Trump is the best and he's not corrupt.

He's out to make America Great. what you don't agree with that? Hillary just wants more immigrants including Muslims to invade the USA and to vote for socialism

Read his amazing speech on immigration and building the wall . just what don't you agree with on that? what you want more illegals to move to the USA to vote for socialism?

Only Trump understands what China is doing to the USA and only he can stop it. Guess you want that to continue too or do you even understand how China is ripping the USA off. i haven't heard any other politician pinpoint exactly how to fix the economy , immigration etc. only Trump and he's got all the right solutions

Trump has certainly been trashed by many conservatives, and I won't even begin to weigh on on whether it's fair or not.

I know that for many years, he really wasn't looking at things through a political prism, and that may explain some of his diversions from conservative purity.

Still, he is the one who is steering the life boat. We either get in, or take our chances with the ones who sunk the ship.

What worries me the most is the amount of support that Clinton has, in spite of her glaring and obvious shortcomings. That is more than just a media prop-up. There is a deep and profound misunderstanding of reality in our country today. It is widespread and stubborn. Somewhere and somehow, rational thought and common sense were abandoned by otherwise good people. It's so bad that you can't even have reasonable discussions with liberals. It's no longer a political philosophy for them, it is dogma that can't be shaken without a disruption of the psyche.

For a long time now, conservatives have been wrong about what a conservative is.

Conservatism is not the ability to recite a list of principles with a straight face, as Ted Cruz did. And as anyone from John McCain to Paul Ryan are able to do without cracking up, guffawing or falling down laughing so hard they cry.

Conservatism is not a list.

Conservatism is the spirit to preserve and defend American values. That’s it. Which makes Trump the most conservative candidate we’ve ever had.

Except one: if you don’t try, death is certain. To compound the metaphor: a Hillary Clinton presidency is Russian Roulette with a semi-auto. With Trump, at least you can spin the cylinder and take your chances.

That's just another way of shouting what I've been saying since Trump announced and gained momentum...
