New students at Pomona College were welcomed to campus with posters in their dorms giving instructions on “How to be a (Better) White Ally” and stating that all white people are racist.
The signs state white people should “acknowledge your privilege” and “apologize if you’ve offended someone,” adding that offensive language includes words like “sassy” and “riot,” which are “racially coded.”

My kid would be an ex student in 2 seconds. Unfortunately, a lot of these parents have probably raised their kids to accept that they’re evil because they’re white.

I wonder yet if something like this can be parlayed into an actual discussion rather than a fight.
Yes, various people in various situations have various advantages and disadvantages. And it isn’t just white people with their Christianized philosophy and general refusal to keep a chip on their shoulders. For just one example — if you want to play most sports well, then if you’re black you have a leg up on it. The goal of a civil society should be to get everybody’s respective advantages to work together well for the sake of doing what is right. Cooperation, not jealousy.

If the offense someone feels over something I've said or done is reasonable and legitimate I'll surely apologize.But,sweetie,something tells me that we define "reasonable and legitimate" *very* differently.

I think we can fairly identify when someone has taken offense for no good reason.
I have, in a waggish way, suggested that everyone should be a redneck, no matter what color he or she is.

Unless you want to be on the O Line of an NFL team.
Black people are tolerated in every corner of this country. Whites are not. Black people can INSIST on certain standards of treatment by All Authorities, from teachers to police, and the authorities comply. Whites cannot. Black people insist on decent treatment even when they behave rudely. Whites do not. It is never uncool to have African ancestry. It is often uncool to have 3/4 or more European ancestry. A black person alone in a large group of whites is welcomed. A white person is not welcomed in a large group of black people. (I’ve been that white person.) White people have to be courteous at all times in public or risk societal alienation. Blacks do not.
I don’t think there is any white privilege for people alive in 2016.
The only privilege whites have is working to pay the way for lazy and ungrateful whiny minorities. Respect is earned, not paid for by morons in government jobs.
