While the grand opening is scheduled for late October, today the luxury Trump International Hotel, Washington D.C. is scheduled to begin checking in its first guests as part of a low key 'soft' opening.
The hotel has a prestigious address on Pennsylvania Avenue, near the White House and the National Mall, and is built inside the Old Post Office building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The building has undergone a $200 million overhaul and now boasts a 10,000 square-foot Spa by Ivanka Trump, a BLT Prime restaurant and 263 guestrooms and suites boasting 14 to 16 foot ceilings, "soaring windows, glittering crystal sconces" and six-foot tubs.

Is it my lying eyes or is there a heaping helping of diversity in that picture?

It’s the Adorable Deplorables!
It looks absolutely stunning.
Would love to stay there someday, if I save up enough pennies. ;)
I love how the construction guys in the back are just jawing away - “hey, the photo! Yeah, whatever” Lol!
Why not, it's targeted towards the DC politicians and their millionaire lobbyists..............
By advertising $500 a night ensures the place will be full in a matter of hours. $500 a night for DC is a deal.
Hellary could rest and recover there.

Property values would go to hell. Everyone would check out.
Understood ( 500$ a nite is ten times what this disgruntled bible-clutching malcontent deplorable voter pays for a bed. But in addition to firmly flu Bing my uzi I also squeeze my wallet very tightly too - ha! I very seldom spend much on my own comfort. Prefer to give to charities jnstead. ). But that’s my problem. I have no problem at all with mr Ttump’s nice new hotel - congrats to him!!)
That’s a hell of a lot cheaper than what the Clintoon’s were charging for the Lincoln Bedroom back in the 90s!
$500/night in that part of Washington is not a big deal. But I betcha you could snag a weekend room on Priceline for around $150.
Correct. The Hampton Inn is 260.00
The point is that for that location, $500 a night is not much. There is no way you will find anything under that in that area. On the contrary we are talking more like $800 a night.

if you do that is the deal of the century.
Having stayed in moderate to some high-end hotels in my time, I can say from the location that $500 a night is quite inexpensive, all things considered.
Anything at the Capitol is big bucks. That Hampton mentioned was at the Harbor by Alexandria.

DC is on a different planet. They are in a different reality. You will here people going out to eat and spending $500 for a bottle of wine. DC gets the best of everything. It is nauseating.
That’s what I was thinking! Not a bad price, at all, considering :)
THERE'S BLACK PEOPLE THERE TOO! PROBABLY HELD THERE AGAINST THEIR WILL BY KLANSMEN DISGUISED AS CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AND BUSINESSMEN!
IT’s so fabulous.. As you go down Pennsylvania Avenue There
a big sign outside that reads: TRUMP IS COMING... 2016
