Donald Trump is gaining support among African-American voters — whose enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton is eroding, a tracking poll released Saturday revealed.
Trump saw a 16.5 percentage-point increase in backing from African-American voters in a Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California tracking poll, up from 3.1 percent on Sept. 10 to 19.6 percent through Friday.
Meanwhile, the same poll showed Clinton’s support among that group plummeting from 90.4 percent on Sept. 10 to 71.4 percent.
Clinton’s nearly 20-point crash began Sunday, said Dan Schnur of USC. Sunday was the day Clinton was recorded collapsing while entering a Secret Service van at a 9/11 event.
The survey, which spanned through Friday, included the days in which Trump reignited the divisive “birther” issue — which critics contend is a thinly veiled attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the country’s first black president.

Hillary Clinton began the birther movement.
I’m betting African Americans are already aware of that.
That said, for comparison purposes, this poll had an event a few weeks ago with a sudden one-day uptick (the uptick persists in the report for seven days, because each sample is in the average for seven days). In contrast, the uptick that is now in place is "multiple upticks," which suggests a real and persistent shift in Trump's favor.
Based on the irrational press attention put on birtherism, and the effort to make that a racist issue, tells me that Trump is in fact making significant progress on getting the support of African Americans. The DEM party, which guides the press direction, has many polls to draw from.
Note too the resurrection of Khan and Curiel, also irrational "racist bigot" attacks against Trump.

This is why Barky Obama is out there on the campaign trail shucking, jiving & begging by giving his speeches in “black talk” as only he can do it. Blacks in this country should be insulted to the max ..... evidently, to understand what is going on, they have to be spoken down to by someone who only cares about them when he wants their vote and thinks they are too stupid to understand him if he would talk/conduct himself like a president should. It wasn’t Trump who “reignited” the “birther” issue, it was Hillary Clinton and her lapdog media who did the reigniting. It is their desperate attempt to save her failing campaign.

Trump didn't "reignite" any such thing. Hillary and her media slaves were the ones responsible.

Before FDR in 1932 a large majority of African-Americans voted Republican.
As recently as Nixon in 1960 nearly a third still voted Republican.
Since the 60s civil rights movements 90% or more blacks have voted Democrat.
If Trump really does get 20%, that will be the highest since... well, Nixon in 1960.

Obama has already proven that he is not legitimate. His “so-called” father (a British subject) was married to someone else at the time of his birth. His mother, an unmarried 17 year old was too young to pass American citizenship.
Everything about Obama is illegitimate.
This is just anecdotal, but I have never heard any black person discuss the birther issue—it appears to be a controversy among talking heads.
It is a classic media red herring—if Obama were born on Mars it would be irrelevant to this election campaign—and is just another media “controversy” so they can yell “racist Trump” over and over again.
Not everything. I’m sure his Indonesian citizenship is still legit.
