You don’t have to buy into my faith - just don’t insult me or it. It’s called respect - I would afford you the same.
Maybe years from now we will all sit around debating the exact day when the catholic church was no longer catholic. And I may join you. Or not. I didn’t leave the catholic church. It left me.
This pope would do best to admit he has turned the Vatican into a museum of Roman Catholicism and turn his flock lose to seek pastors.
My comment is not directed towards Catholics, for whom I have great respect. My comment is for this Frances person only.
Just to dismiss his remarks as simple insanity is not enough. His mind seems profoundly infected with disease. I feel compassion for any who still put credence into anything this sick soul says.
He must have been sleeping during history class, which is being kind, but I’m Anglican and we have our own nuts. Stones and glass houses come to mind.

I made the distinction - as I said, I disagree with his opinion much of the time as a flesh and blood man. The infallibility of the Pope is another matter. He has not spoken on these matters in this manner.

Marxism/Socialism (collectivism) is anathema to the Catholic Canon which is based on Natural Law—subsidiarity of the Natural Family which is antithetical to communism/collectivism. Individualism and private property rights are essential to Free Will and Top Down control is anathema to even the hierarchical Church which is based on Reason/Natural Laws/God’s Laws-—much like the Constitution of the USA. The pope only is for clarifying the Truth—not to “rule” us.. Anything which smacks of Marxism/Communism/Socialism is heretical and anti-Catholic. There is no such thing as a Marxist Catholic-—it is an oxymoron-—they are either or-—never both. Just like a practicing homosexual can’t be a Christian. Practicing demonic behaviors makes you a follower of Satan.
You might want to consider the Eastern Orthodox Church first. I would never want to give up on the Holy Sacraments. The so-called non denominational churches have no legitimate claim to authority and are laden with all sorts of heresies.

I dont know if any other guy remembers his twenties but you go INSANE if he see a thigh. It takes a VERY VERY special man to be a priest and the vetting has to be done differently, cause it ain’t working.
Personally, almost half the priests i’ve known have been caught having sex with minors or left the church to get married.
Forty eight isn’t old, but yeah, If i wasn’t married i could make that kind of commitment, in my 20s, why lie? I couldn’t.
