Sowell: Our Political Predicament
Creators Syndicates ^ | September 20, 2016 | Thomas Sowell

Posted on 09/19/2016 11:58:48 AM PDT by jazusamo

There is no point denying or sugar-coating the plain fact that the voters this election year face a choice between two of the worst candidates in living memory. A professor at Morgan State University summarized the situation by saying that the upcoming debates may enable voters to decide which is the "less insufferable" candidate to be President of the United States.

My own take on this election is that the voter is in a situation much like that of an American fighter pilot in World War II, whose plane has been hit by enemy fire out over the Pacific Ocean and is beginning to burst into flames.

If he bails out, there is no guarantee that his parachute will open. But even if he lands safely in the ocean, he may be eaten by sharks. If he comes down on land, he may be captured by the Japanese and tortured and/or killed.

In other words, there are huge and potentially fatal risks. But, if he remains in the plane, he is doomed for certain. To me, Donald Trump represents multiple and potentially fatal risks. But Hillary Clinton is a certainty of disaster. Her vaunted "experience" is an experience of having repeatedly made decisions that turned out to be not merely wrong but catastrophic.

The most obvious example has been her role as Secretary of State during the Obama administration's decision to undermine and help destroy the governments of two nations — Egypt and Libya — that were no threat whatever to Americans or to America's interests.

It's most disappointing that Sowell won't come right out and support Donald Trump when he clearly makes a case that Trump is the lesser of two evils.

Go Donald Trump!

This story comes as no surprise. After all, Sowell sucks from the government teat of academic welfare. He was also comparing Trump to Hitler back during the primaries.

It is truly sad that Dr. Sowell's near-irrational fear of Donald Trump has caused him to turn from his duty as a solid conservative to preserve and defend our Constitution.

Please regain control of your emotions, dear sir, perform your patriotic duty by voting and encouraging others to vote for Donald Trump. Our Constitution and our Republic will be seriously -- if not irreparably -- damaged by the Left if they are allowed to continue their unrelenting attacks on America and on American citizens.

These elites forced the rest of us to support the lesser of two evils for decades until we lost all our traditional values and no one is allowed to mention Jesus.

Now it’s their turn to support the lesser of two evils and they won’t do it.

Maybe, after seeing everything we’ve lost, they have decided to not make our mistake!

Time to prey for revival.

Sowell could also point out the most recent non-politician was Arnold right where Sowell lives. The Terminator stopped nothing.

Thomas Sowell is brilliant but not perfect and misses the Common Sense of Donald Trump which has been missing from many politicians, since Ronald Reagan. He shouldn’t underestimate people who have a true understanding of the Natural Family—male/female paradigm—who have real life experience like a Thomas Paine. Common Sense is a basic component of the American Revolution, along with a profound belief in God (Christian God) for an understanding of Free Will and Individualism (Natural Rights from God only).

Living in the artificial world of books, “the Intellectuals” after the Modernist period, has really destroyed America, as Sowell’s book on Intellectuals revealed. He should actually know better. The people who don’t have to experience Reality/Failure or take real life risks usually end up worthless and communists and totally evil and lazy.

On one hand, I am disappointed also that Sowell doesn’t come out in strong support of Trump.

But, I think he was writing this from the perspective of those who haven’t got on the Trump train yet, and is trying to persuade them, that while Trump may not be exactly what they wished for, he is the right choice, the only correct choice, to defeat Hillary who would be a total disaster for the country and everyone in it.

What I really meant to say was that - for someone as intelligent as (I used to believe) Sowell is, it shouldn’t be that difficult to figure out who to vote for this November.

Clinton or Trump...
Clinton or Trump...
Hmmm...
What to do...

Such a tough choice...

They’re both so flawed.../s
