Indeed

Some things I don’t like women doing

Policing and soldiering

Imagine women in 13 Hours or Blackhawk Down

I wish Trump would withhold judgement on this until all evidence is out.

...

I agree. But reading his words carefully, he’s expressing everything on the matter either conditionally or as a question.

Let’s face it, as a political issue, it’s a minefield, especially for Trump who is attacked by multiple media outlets for the slightest thing.

Nothing wrong with what Trump said. It's a legitimate point that a guy gets gunned down while he has his hands on the car.

This cop is toast.

That is a piss poor article written by fembot activists that doesn’t take into account the fact women officers are far less exposed to hazardous duty than male cops.
************************************************

I don’t disagree that women might not be put alone in hazardous situations like the male cops, and that may be why they have less shootings as a percentage than the men.

However, that was not the discussion. The comment was that women use their guns more than men, and that is just false. In fact, they use them less.

They use them less because they have less exposure to police environments where they are likely to be used

That’s not the same as they use their guns less exactly

I shoot less jihadis than a Navy SEAL

Factually true but not relevant

It’s part of this myth if women ran the world they would be less violent

I do agree though that in some circumstances a female negotiator or presence might calm some perps

I could see that

I’m sure less likely to escalate with a woman since I’m reluctant to strike them

But in some demographics that reluctance is far less

With 20/20 vision it appears obvious the shooting was not warranted; however...

In my opinion, there is a reason that backup was called to assist the female officer and there is a reason that everybody and their brother including helicopter support convened at the location just prior to the shooting...

Watching the videos, at the start of the helicopter video I heard one police officer comment after the second patrol car arrived that (I paraphrase): "Okay, NOW he has his hands up and is complying" Obviously the implication is that prior to backup arriving he was not complying. As well, there is a reason the female officer who was first on the scene had her gun drawn initially PRIOR to following the guy with her gun remaining drawn...

In my opinion, context and perception matter as to the female officer's intent. Did she perceive the guy a threat? Based upon what led up to the shooting would her perception of a threat seem reasonable?

Crutcher had a hefty criminal record before he was shot. In fact, he had just been released in May after nine years in prison for drug trafficking, WZ reported.

He also had a history of resisting arrest. Behold the rap sheet:

1996 Shooting with intent to kill — Dismissed
2001 Petit larceny — Conviction
2004 Driving while suspended — Conviction
2005 Driving while suspended, resisting officer — Conviction
2006 Driving while suspended — Conviction
Driving with open container — Dismissed
2006 Trafficking in illegal drugs — Conviction. (He was also charged in that incident with assault on a police officer and resisting, but that was dismissed.)
2011 Public intoxication (while in prison for drug trafficking) — Conviction
2012 Public intoxication — Conviction
Obstructing an officer — Conviction
2013 DUI — Conviction
Resisting officer — Conviction
Open Container — Conviction
Failure to wear seatbelt — Conviction
Speeding — Conviction

But even all of that was not all.

Take a look at the numerous open warrants for Crutcher. These Aug. 30 warrants were active at the time of his death, and as you can see in the graphic below, they included things like DUI, resisting, drug trafficking and public intoxication.

Either the police train to key on threatening movements, or we end up watching police get gunned down by criminals in droves.

Nobody wants to see police gunned down by criminals in droves. But when the police officer makes a snap decision and that decision proves to be wrong then there should be consequences.
