Cam Newton speaks out against police shootings [Psalms 12]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton on Wednesday made a rare stand on social issues, spending a majority of his news conference addressing Tuesday's shooting in Charlotte that turned to racial unrest.

"I'm an African-American and I'm not happy how the justice has been dealt with over the years, and the state of oppression in our community,'' the NFL MVP said. "But we also as black people have to do right by ourselves. We can't be hypocrites. It starts with everybody holding each other accountable. And I say that on one voice and also another voice that when you go public or when things happen in the community, it's not the fact that things are happening, it's the way they are being treated after they happen."

Late Tuesday afternoon, a black Charlotte police officer shot and killed Keith Lamont Scott, also black, in an apartment complex parking lot about 15 minutes from Bank of America Stadium. The police said Scott exited his vehicle carrying a gun. Scott's family said he was unarmed and sitting in his car, reading a book, while waiting for his son to come home from school. Protests involving hundreds on Tuesday night turned to violence. Rocks were thrown, police vehicles were vandalized and fires were set. Sixteen police offers reportedly were injured.

"It could have happened in Atlanta. It could have happened in Los Angeles. It doesn't matter,'' Newton said. "It's embarrassing for things to keep happening. And from what I do know we had an incident that happened in 2013 that had something to do with the police and it went to jury and whatever, it got washed away in time...''

Hey, Cam - a few quick questions.

1) How many Negro Carolina Panthers have committed murder? How many white?
2) How much did you get paid to play at Auburn?

Cam is a narcissistic POS much like POTUS is and once in a great while there’s a hopeful spark of reality that might emanate from them but it never last.

I call it a momentary lapse of clarity then they fade back into what they really are... narcissistic POS.

Cam’s reality surfaced when he lost the Super Bowl and had his little tantrum... it’ll take far more then a few words to correct the impression he left on a lot of folks.

Cam Newton is a thief. He got booted out of Gainesville for stealing another student’s laptop, then painting his own name on it. When the poleece showed up, he pitched it out of a window into a dumpster.

Entitlement followed by consciousness of guilt. Product of a failed subculture. That subculture is on display nightly in Charlotte. The only injustice is to others.

I have not, and I will not, watch any NFL games this year.

The National Felony League is a disgrace. 70% of the player are long haired, tatted up dirt bag criminals or criminal supporters.

I do not support such enterprises that encourage and promote such behavior.

Turn off the NFL. Keep the ratings down. Screw Football.

And I’ve been watching all my life.

He should point out the fact that the BLM is fanning the flames of violence and of the lack of accountability that he is trying to point out.
Which is it, police lack of accountability or the accountability of blacks and their behavior?
He straddles the fence and his statement falls into an obscure zone of questionable meaning.
Why can't he just shut up and play football, he is truly a great player when he's not amped up on his own hype.

Yeah, i watched the ESPN Monday game until ESPN hyped the protests, Then came the black power hater protests during the antem. I clicked it off and went out and did some car maintenance.
I'm done until the SJW crap stops.
Goodall has destroyed the NFL due to his cowardice in not standing for America.
He could have simply banned the showing of the protests.

What Cam should have said:

As a human, I deplore an injustice whenever it occurs. But it is not for me or the citizens of this city to determine guilt or innocence on our own. I have great faith that justice will be served in due course and I will be following the process as it occurs like everyone else. Thank you.
