Who won the Cold War again?
CIA Director John Brennan voted for the Communist Party candidate in the 1976 presidential election.
Brennan told a congressional panel last week that he “froze” while taking a CIA polygraph test four years later when the questioner asked him if he had ever worked with or for a group that was “dedicated to overthrowing the U.S.,” CNN reported.
“This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate,” Brennan said at a panel discussion regarding diversity in the intelligence community during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual conference.
A few things.
If he had admitted to voting for the Nazi Party, he would have been hounded out of everywhere. And rightly so. What's wrong is that voting for a mass murdering totalitarian ideology is just considered a whimsical act of a passionate young man. This is the pernicious double standard that has allowed the left to evade its moral responsibility for the crimes of the left.
Communism and its fellow travelers have never been held accountable. That is unfortunately still the case.
It's very telling that voting for the Communist candidate wasn't disqualifying. There are numerous stories of what was deemed disqualifying, including having family in Israel. But you can have a Communist past and still become the CIA Director.
And final question, who really won the Cold War when America's highest offices are run by people whose essential ideas and politics are far closer to Lenin than Eisenhower.

Way past time the communist in this country were brought to justice. No way we should let Lynch and Obama ride into the sunset. All the handouts to universities and other institutions need to be looked into. We need a major overhaul.
Trump needs to GUT this and other agencies. A good start would be eliminating the epa.
Would love to see Trump tweet, “now Brennen” “is there any member of Obama team that doesn’t view communism as a good thing?”

Yep. It remains a blot on America that a man who fought tenaciously to the point of eventually losing his health and his life directly as a result of the government and media sponsored attacks on his person, has been so thoroughly vilified by the very country he fought against all odds to warn.
Yes, McCarthy was right, and the Venona Project releases back him up. I have often wondered if he had access to them through some source back then.

I was not born yet but if his times were like ours I imagine anyone with a brain knew what was going on. To someone not paying much attention a “little communism” may sound like a good thing. However, there is no such thing. Like “a little pregnant” what is going on early turns into a MUCH bigger thing down the line.
Note that CIA Director John Brennan did not apologize or express any regret for supporting the Communist Party and its candidate, Gus Hall. So now we have a CIA Director who is an admitted traitor to the United States of America.
There’s a Memorial Wall at CIA Headquarters in Langley, VA, to honor CIA employees who gave their lives in service to the United States.
John Brennan has pissed on that Memorial Wall.
So, he’s a Muslim AND a communist.
I was not born then either, but what I have seen is that from 1918 to 1950, especially in England (but in the USA as well) it wasn’t considered by many to be much more than a youthful dalliance, to discover a man was a “bolshevik” and had been a member of the Communist party.
There were conversations like “What? He isn’t a bolshevik, is he? God, how I dislike them...” which indicates it was perceived as being not that much more of a black mark as someone who was an atheist or womanizer.
Of course, that was before the West became fully privy to the murderous depredations and evils of communism because the media and government dupes in the West went out of their way NOT to see and report on the bloodletting and tyranny that was going on.
Of all the things that I admire about Joseph McCarthy (see my Freep Page) it is that he made being a communist something that people became ashamed of and had to actively hide. In doing so, he paid with his life, but I think, bought this country decades more of freedom, though that began to crumble when the radicals from the sixties began entering government.
We are probably more riddled with people in government who have communist tendencies now than we ever were back then (which is saying a lot, because there was a LOT of that) but now, they mask it by saying they aren’t communists and they love America, but when they say it, they don’t mean it the way you or I would!
Wow.
Brennan is the kind of person you would not want to see if you happened to observe him walking behind you on a deserted street.
Brennan is a Mooslim, too.
We need Joe McCarthy!
