Perhaps he understands that’s the literacy level of most of voting America. Using big words confuses many people and makes you seem snobby. Even if it is an unintentional strategy his vocabulary is not to his detriment.

I don’t think the vocabulary is as much of a problem as the constant repetition of adjectival phrases that bracket every damn answer he gives.
