Ted Cruz Releases Statement on the Debate
Ted Cruz via Facebook ^

Posted on 09/27/2016 3:52:05 AM PDT by TigerClaws

Tonight, a clear contrast was drawn between the two nominees. Tonight, Hillary Clinton made it clearer than ever that if elected President, our future will continue on the same path that is hurting millions of Americans. If Clinton is elected, we know that the havoc Obamacare is wreaking on American families, on small businesses, and on our healthcare system will continue. We know that President Obama’s relentless efforts to crush the oil and gas industry and to wage war on coal will continue. We know that the Obama administration’s willful blindness to radical Islamic terrorism and the influx of unvetted refugees from nations infiltrated by terrorists will continue. We know that President Obama’s lawless executive amnesty will continue and even expand.

If Clinton is elected, we know that a liberal justice will be named to fill Scalia’s seat and we will lose the Supreme Court for a generation. With that, we know for a certainty that our right to keep and bear arms, our religious liberty and federalism are in danger. Tonight we received insight into what a Hillary Clinton presidency would look like for Americans. We know that her policies would kill jobs, reduce wages, and continue the downward spiral our country has endured under President Obama.

Tonight, Donald Trump had his strongest debate performance of the election cycle. He drew strong contrasts with Hillary on taxes, regulations, law and order, and the disastrous Iran deal.

Rather than Hillary's America, we need to take a different path. A path that would begin to restore our country from the damage it has suffered the last eight years. We need to unite to defend freedom and restore the Constitution. And Hillary Clinton made absolutely clear tonight she would not do so.

Now Tead Cruz has a voice? NOW?

This guy is the lamest dude I’ve come across in politics.

When he had tens millions of inclined voters watching him on the global stage, he said bupkis in support of Donald Trump, to defend our nation and our ‘Conservative’ way of life.

Now that absolutely nobody gives a fig what he thinks, he is moved to whisper his tacit approval.

Mentioning what Hillary is all about is fine Tead. What epiphany did it take for you to come to this conclusion? It’s one we had almost a quarter of a century ago, when watching her stand by her man on 60 minutes. That put her on our radar in a very negative manner. Watching her treachery since then, we realize that was perhaps the highest point of our esteem for her. (Clearly, none at all, and declining precipitously ever since.) Where the hell have you been Tead?

Tead now opens his yap in the woods where nobody can hear him, and his die hard supporters are of course singing the praised of Tead. And after all, isn’t he the voice of reason, the astute standard bearer of Conservatism? Ahhhh NO!

You won’t sell me on his dedication to duty, to nation, to Conservatism, to us. When it really mattered Tead was stuck on him and nobody else.

Tead doesn’t have the character to hold public office. Any man that would let self stand in the way of helping to defeat Hillary Clinton when it mattered most, is someone I have no use for.

Folks can prattle off how impressive Tead is now. They can prattle on about how vast the numbers are that will now listen to Tead and follow his lead. I’ve seen eight years of someone who led from behind. We don’t need another one.

Now of course when Trump wins, some deluded idiots will say that it was all because of Tead.

Supreme court? A man with Ted’s addled brain? Hell no.

Tead and Glenn Beck were a match made in heaven.

They are welcome to each other...

He may be a great debater but Trump seems to be a better persuader. I’m glad Cruz is on board. The more the merrier I say.

“What the hell has happened to this place when Ted Cruz isn’t welcome?”

When Cruz said at the RNC convention to vote for Hillary.

I’m glad Cruz made this statement. As Cruz so clearly articulated, the debate revealed everything about what voters should fear about a Clinton presidency.

Trump took ‘incoming’ from both Clinton and Holt all night and appeared almost defenseless.

But look what Cruz is saying here: Trump delivered his best debate performance yet, by making a strong case for law and order, the 2nd ammendment, the constitution, common sense lowering of tax and regulation, religious freedom, but while allowing’ Clinton to double down on every failed leftist policy under the sun.

Trump has secured his position as the ‘change’ candidate and exposed Clinton as the status quo candidate, so Trump did what he needed to do.

Cruz didn’t miss the significance of the debate - but it appears his die hard supporters missed it completely.

Snarky comments like....

“That’s if the Cruz haters don’t manage to get Hildebeeste elected out of sheer spitefulness.”

And....

“Finally, the voice of reason!”

These comments are amazingly tone deaf: So now Cruz haters are risking Clinton getting elected out of spite? This is the voice of reason?

I’m sorry, but you can’t rewrite history: it is Trump haters, not Cruz haters, who have for months risked getting Clinton elected out of spite.

It appears Cruz finally gets it. It would be nice if his supporters would do the same.

At first, Mrs. Bill was believed strong in UT, where Cruz did particularly well in the primary. Now, polls say UT is Trump’s strongest state, and Senator Mike Lee is neutral. What happened?

Well put.

Trump needs all the help he can get now and after he is elected.

Early in the debate Clinton said her plan would create 10 million new jobs.

Okay, but ...

94 million are currently out of work. Add those newly entering the workforce during the next presidency, and the number is still woefully short.

Even if her number is 10 million new job per year, that would be 80 million during the next 2 terms. At best, that would still leave 14 million currently unemployed still unemployed and it would not allow for those newly entering the workforce each year for the next 8 years.

Common Core Math is not going to add up to full employment under Clinton’s plan.

Of course, the 10 million number was just something her speechwriters and advisers grabbed out of the air to make it sound good. Under closer scrutiny, however, it would be more EPIC FAIL from a Democrat president.

Citizen, maybe, if his parents filed the right paperwork to have him recognized as such. We have seen no such paperwork.
There is no way he is a natural born citizen.

While I was, and am disappointed in Cruz allowing things to become so personal that for months he failed to do what he could do to avoid a Clinton victory...

I am glad and overjoyed that he woke up (and sadly, I believe that the RNC’s notification that people who do not support the nominee might lose all RNC funding had the most to do with it), and is now actively campaigning for Trump and against Hillary.

No matter what you might think, there are still millions of loyal supporters of his who listen to him and follow his lead. The fact that he is now openly and strongly advocating against Hillary and for Trump will do Trump good in ensuring that that hemorrhage of potential no shows stops and is dried up.

...and for that I am grateful because we need them all.

Not just to narrowly defeat Hillary, but to slam dink her and the DNC with a landslide victory for Trump.

THAT is what our nation needs.

Let it go. Obviously we want everyone on board, who has anything to contribute. Be grateful that Cruz has put his wounded pride behind him, and is now joining the battle. We need a great landslide to scare the nervous nellies in Congress, including what I call the "whipped cur" Republicans, like McCain & Graham, into backing the coming Presidential agenda.

Be grateful that some who should have been on board earlier, are now on board, and do not seek to payback those now on board for past errors--certainly not in the midst of a campaign.

I care...If he can bring anyone to the polls to vote for Trump who might stay home otherwise...I am glad.

Cruz has been a good Senator. His lack of a Trump endorsement earlier left me very disappointed in him.

Every vote counts. We need to look at the goal. TRUMP WINS!

So why did Cruz feel the need to comment? Like people care what he thinks?

Enough "NeverTrump" people do care that we should care too. If even 10% of Cruz supporters are NeverTrump (a realistic number), that is a lot of votes, enough to swing more than one close state. I'll take those votes - happily! I don't ask you to forgive Cruz, but at least be gracious in accepting a gift that matters.

>>So why did Cruz feel the need to comment? Like people care what he thinks?<<

I care. He is my Senator and might I add, the most conservative Senator in that body.

Trump needs all the help he can get. Although I will vote for Trump and hope he wins in a landslide, Gotta say, that boy couldn’t articulate a point to save his life. I personally thought he had his @$$ handed to him in that debate.

I was cringing.
