Trump broke Cuban embargo, report says [Miami media going crazy]
Miami Herald ^ | 9/29/16 | PATRICIA MAZZEI

Donald Trump’s hotel and casino company secretly spent money trying to do business in Cuba in violation of the U.S. trade embargo, Newsweek reported Thursday in a story that could endanger the Republican presidential nominee’s Cuban-American support in South Florida. Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts paid at least $68,000 to a consulting firm in late 1998 in an

What are the “troubling issues?” I missed them.

His warm & fuzzy relationship with Putin.

The following statement he made regarding Cuba...

"50 years is enough , " Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller published Tuesday, referring to Obama's decision to re-establish U.S. ties with Cuba.

"I think it's fine. I think it's fine, but we should have made a better deal," Trump added. " The concept of opening with Cuba is fine."

Oh okay. I thought you were implying that Trump had acted illegally, which seems to be what the article is trying to suggest. There appears to be nothing of the sort here.

Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts paid at least $68,000 to a consulting firm in late 1998 in an attempt to give Trump’s business a head start in Cuba if the U.S. loosened or lifted trade sanctions, according to the front-page Newsweek report, titled “The Castro Connection.”

Some of us believe that the tidal wave of investment in Cuba caused by lifting the embargo would have drowned communism in about 10 seconds, and should have been done unilaterally decades ago. In any event $68,000 planning for "if" is peanuts.

“This is an excerpt...but the Miami media is DROOLING over this crap.... still NOT A SINGLE REPORT I have seen in the Miami media about the VERIFIED corruption at the Clinton Foundation regarding the Haitian earthquake relief. Not one.”

Yes, as expected. IMHO, Trump’s campaign needs to create a website of Hillary and Bill corruption, including all of their associates who’ve been indicted and/or convicted, and the sexual predator issues, and the pay for play in the Clinton Foundation, etc., give it a very easy to remember web address (e.g. AdventuresofHillaryandBill.com), and then reference it when on the news, at campaign stops, and even the next debates. His campaign has to go around the media.

Big “if.” He was poised in case it happened, which Clinton did not do.

It really is bizarro world because here you have these communists trying to paint Mr. Trump, the ultimate capitalist, as a communist, while everybody knows the people doing the painting are the communists.

By "troubling issues here" I was referring to the whole Russia-Cuba thing. Because, obviously, neither are friends of ours, particularly during the '80s when the Evil Empire/Soviet Union still existed. Yet they continue their strong relationship today (Russia and communist Cuba).

How Russia arms America's southern neighbors

Ioan Grillo
May 9, 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.

Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.

Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.

In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia Boosts Arms, Training for Leftist Latin Militaries

Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

BY: Bill Gertz
February 20, 2015

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.

Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.

Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

Like it did in China? Chicoms still going strong. Same would have happened in Cuba. Authoritarian regime financed by US investment.

If that were truly a serious probability why on earth would the communist government there be in favor of it?

Since the press is going back to the 90’s have they looked into the possibility that Slick Clinton’s Lewinski cigar might have been a Cuban?

That sounds like the cost of sending a “team” of two or three people there for a week to talk to some people.

Such a media tactic might work, if he wasn’t running against Hillary Clinton.

Like it did in China? Chicoms still going strong.

They've probably never been more powerful, both economically and militarily. Thanks in large part to our idiotic, bordering on treasonous, policies in dealing with them. They have substantially beefed up their military over the past 10-15 years or so. They also have a closer than ever military alliance with Russia.

Keep in mind, Bill Clinton's Chinagate during the 1990s...

Yes these same people who pretend they are outraged, and how many are they? 10, 15 maybe are not outraged over obama doing what he has.

Yet again the media trying to find anything on Trump , but will not report the facts of their hero Clinton.

Chinagate was light-years more serious than the Lewinsky scandal. In fact, Monicagate basically got him and Gore off the hook on it. Both were caught (literally) 'red-handed' giving away and/or selling sophisticated weapons technology to the ChiComs.
