The NFL: a league of cop haters and dog killers.

BOYCOTT.

Colleges did start this. U of Michigan had several players display a clenched fist in the air, during the National Anthem.

Yep, it’s also like an unproductive and mindless habit. Even before the most recent BLM-condoning (supporting) NFL nonsense, I was uncomfortable with the liberal and PC direction of the NFL and ESPN. And the almost quasi-religious promotion of it. It’s interesting how the new politically-correct NFL has tried to appeal to women all the while becoming more like a free agent thug league which denigrates its traditional, and overwhelmingly largest, fan base (namely, white lower & middle class males). Problem for the NFL is that this is also a demographic which is the most principled and not given to condescending PC appeals. And doesn’t forget easily.

The days of Lombardi and Landry are over. And while it is sad in a way to let the NFL go, it is no longer the same game I used to enjoy watching.

So far this season I’ve watch no more than 3 minutes total of nfl on the tube.
Spoiled a-holes can pound sand
At this point I’d rather watch curling.
And I hate curling, but at least they aren’t a bunch of black live matter crappola.
If black lives matter then why not in Rham Emanuels and obammy’s chicago?

For years I was addicted to the NFL but this year I just can’t get excited. Tired of overpaid, pompous players who seem to think they walk on water. More fun to be outside getting projects done on a nice Sunday afternoon.

I always thought the National Anthem before games was false patriotism, at least that on the part of the leagues. But now the players use it as a platform to display their hatred for this country, it makes my blood boil. They don’t realize that they have it so good.

The NFL has done many bad things in the past 15 years. I am convinced that it is rigged in many of the big games. Perhaps in some of the minor games between two non-playoff bound teams. I think they try to help the home team win. How, using flags. The spygate thing was inexcusable. Their half time show this past year was inexcusable. This discipline policy is all over the place. I haven’t watched a game this seasoned, and I probably won’t. I sometimes checked the scores online, but not much more than that.

When you don’t watch it you lose interest in it.

I was that way after the baseball strike of the mid 90's. The season was shut down midway thru for a strike. It didn't come back until the start of next season. In the interim, I had lost interest. I was a huge Astros fan up to the strike, but did not watch any more games until last year. I simply lost interest in the game during the long off season. I wasn't bitter about the srtike; I just lost interest.

I don't know why, but I started watching the Astros again last year and have started enjoying baseball again after a 20-year hiatus.

But I'm done with the NFL.

The success of the NFL has always depended on the support of young to middle-aged white men.

The NFL has done its BEST to pander to EVERY group EXCEPT “whitey” and now they are paying the price.....

See how many Trannys/Women/Thugs you can get to shell out the bucks and fill the stadiums.

football promoted patriotism

I also have not watched a single game. The mood of our nation is changing - The theme that resonates is -

One People, under One God, saluting One Flag!

And auto racing. Especially Indy Car, IMSA, and Formula 1. There is a lot of technical knowledge you can acquire in this interest. In Indy even the fuel guys have mechanical engineering degrees. And the drivers are all first-class and intelligent. They don't make it to that level without being top-notch guys. And if you haven't gone to an Indy, Forumula 1, or IMSA race, you gotta. It's an absolute rush and something you HAVE to do at least once in a lifetime. And rent or buy a radio headset to listen in on drivers and crews. You'll be amazed at the sophistication in auto racing at the highest levels and it's fascinating to listen to engineers and drivers try to figure out and correct problems on-the-fly (between 200 mph and a few seconds in the pits adjusting a front wing).

Here's the schedule of the 2017 Indy Car races.

Here's the schedule of the 2017 IMSA races.

I'd suggest picking a traditional road course to go see. Barber Motorsports Park in AL, Road America in Wisconsin, Watkins Glen Int'l in NY, Sonoma Raceway in CA.

Football appeals to our primitive instincts, while something like modern auto racing highlights man at his finest, employing his intellectual skills in engineering, calculating, and strategizing in the use of technology along with the human will to excel and win.

A drop of 19% is pretty impressive. After their high fixed costs, that's a huge fraction of profit. Even if parts of their compensation for the year are fixed, it will produce a major drop in advertising revenue next year.

It's also a sign of exceptionally high support in the patriotic half of the country. Most democrats are traitors, so they don't matter, but that's 38% of the patriotic half of the country. If this grows any further, the spoiled brats who think insulting our country is a good start to a "dialogue on race" may have to cut back on their exorbitant lifestyles.

I’ll be honest I haven’t really watched a full game in years mainly because playing fantasy football has taken my attention span down to near zero.

But.......the Kapernick thing was just one in a long line of ills the NFL has suffered from under Gooddell. From drafting criminals to making the draft less about the talent and more about ESPN/NFL Network coverage to protecting thugs given their football stature (Ray Lewis) to putting females in ref roles not because they deserve to be there (anyone watching the Skins/Browns game knows) but to show “diversity.” Just a terrible product.

I really can’t stand listening to the likes of Gruden, Moose Johnston, Mike Mayock and Trent Green. They talk not to educate but to hear themselves.....”high pointing the ball” instead of making a catch, “burning time outs” when they are just using one, “putting it on the ground” instead of fumbling, “going vertical” instead of jumping, “running downhill” instead of hitting a hole and running.

Simms is the best color man in the biz if you ask me. He’s simple and doesn’t talk when he doesn’t need to.

It’s very hard to listen to and now it’s become even harder to watch.

Did anyone see what ESPN did with the "Birth if a Nation" trailer that was run during the game? Mind blowing!

If colleges start this crap and don’t get the players in line, I’ll boycott them as well.

Saw some Michigan Wolverines do it a couple of weeks ago. Not since. Either the cameras weren't on them, or they didn't do it.

That being said, if they do it again, even though I'm watching Michigan only to see a family friend's nephew play, I will stop. I haven't seen my Boise State Broncos do anything yet. I'm in the ABQ metro area, but I don't follow the Lobos, so don't know about them. I'm sure local radio will let me know if it happens, though.

The Seattle Mariners are also on my no-go list. First, they held a “gay pride” night and disciplined an employee who told two lesbians to stop smooching in the stands. Then they suspended a player for criticizing BLM and Obama. I guess the Mariners have no problem with an organization that chants “death to cops,” actually shoots and kills cops, chases down and beats up white people, and destroys innocent businesses.

Reminds me of the comment Tom Brookshier said about the Louisville basketball team that inevitably got him fired. “They have a collective IQ of about 40.”

“I always thought the National Anthem before games was false patriotism”

I feared it was, although mine was not false. I remember 9/11, such a short time ago, America rallied, even here in San Francisco flags flying everywhere, on cars and etc. I thought as evil as it was perhaps it had the one positive of driving contentious Americans together.

Now we all take a frickin’ knee. Fifteen years later. Meanwhile in the Arab states actual slavery, torture and murder practiced with impunity.
