Billionaire U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Thursday he does not want the $400,000 annual salary that comes with the White House job and would turn it down if elected.
Trump, the front-runner for the Republican nomination in the 2016 race despite having no political experience, was asked at a town hall-style meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire, if, as president, he would roll back generous pension and healthcare benefits given to members of Congress.

Trump made his Money and then he went to Washington D.C.
Hillary went to Washington D.C. and then she made her Money.
This is to me such an unspeakable evil. I have to keep such things out of my mind because I begin to despair that conditions are hopeless and that redemption of our society is impossible.
Half a century ago people who were complicit in the butchering of an infant would sit in the electric chair and America would shake its collective fist in the air and shout bravo as the switch was thrown!

IIRC, John Kennedy was the only other president who did not accept a salary.
Didn’t JFK donate his salary to charity, I seem to recall? Good idea.
He should take his salary he can donate it.
Herbert Hoover has been the only Pres to not accept his salary. Others have all given it to charity and taken a tax deduction. I hope Trump will just plain not accept it.

That said, I agree that the Salvation Army is a worthy cause - did a lot of volunteer work for them during the Christmas seasons in earlier (younger and sprier) years.
As President, Trump should use AF1, /but I think there should be new rules about it’s use. Like, no vacations in Hawaii unless your primary residence is there. The use of AF1 has been abused by the jackass currently in office.
Yeah that photo op of AF1 with a bunch of his cronies on board where it buzzed Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty was the overture of things to come.
He didn’t make his money off taxpayers backs. She would BREAK our backs and HAS, along with the evil that is stinkin’ up the white house!

OK I modify my earlier statement about him using his own plane exclusively.
Rig up his own plane with the security items and use it for vacations.
Use AF1 for official trips.
That sounds like a plan to me!
No more joy riding, no European vacations using govt resources. Wherever they go,they have to be accompanied by SS. I have a feeling the Trumps wouldn’t be like that anyway. They have their own money. They feel obligated to serve, not be served. Obama and family have been served enough by taxpayers.
