The Lonely Life of a Republican Woman
The New York Times ^ | October 27, 2016 | S. E. Cupp

Posted on 10/27/2016 7:36:44 PM PDT by EveningStar

As has become typical in an election marked by its often unpleasant surprises, I awoke to a storm of outrage on Twitter on Wednesday morning. Newt Gingrich had told Fox’s Megyn Kelly that she was “fascinated with sex” and didn’t “care about public policy.”

Mr. Gingrich unleashed this boorish attack after Ms. Kelly tried to pin him down on whether the many accusations of sexual assault against Donald J. Trump, and his own words on the matter, should disqualify him from the presidency.

That Mr. Gingrich (with whom I once hosted a television show) thought the best way to deflect attention from Mr. Trump’s awful behavior with women was to attack another woman tells you so much about the depths to which Mr. Trump has dragged the Republican Party.

It’s also a sobering harbinger of how hard it’s going to be for the party to win back Republican women, let alone appeal to new female voters in the future.

As a conservative woman who wanted very much to support the Republican nominee, it’s been a deeply disappointing year and a half. After helping the Republican National Committee address some of the troubling deficiencies the party faced after 2012, as outlined in its so-called autopsy report, and witnessing some real progress in our outreach to women in the ensuing years, I did not expect an egomaniacal arsonist to come along and set all that ablaze.

I understand her and Brooks - you can’t offend your employer and doing that earns you a pink slip.

You learn to toe the party line. Real diversity doesn’t exist in the MSM.

You mean she’s a single, bitter gay RINO woman?

That about sums it up.

OP-ED is an opinion approved by the Editor. The New York Rag is now protecting Megyn Kelly. Megyn obviously bit off more than she could chew and has had to enlist the most liberal rag in America to help her.

Never, ever will I watch Megyn Kelly again.

She's a conservative Republican like I'm a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.

Log Cabin Republican? Squealed with delight when gay marriage passed? Single, atheist?

Sounds like a lesbo.

S. E. Cupps’ wiki biography is a history of priveleged angst accompanied by frustrated ambition. Her home town, Tyngsborough, is a 95% white bedroom community, surrounded by burned out former textile mill towns. She attended 2nd tier schools— Notre Dame instead of Phillips, Cornell instead of Yale or Harvard, etc. She is a failed ballet dancer. Her graduate degree in a totally useless liberal arts subject (religious studies) from NYU’s Gallatin School:

http://gallatin.nyu.edu/academics/graduate.html

After that, Cupps has IMHO a checkerboard history of false starts, finally settling for being a part time writer to provide an allegedly contrarian viewpoint for a newspaper that is if anything rabidly partisan. Her alleged views follow a similar checkerboard pattern: raised Catholic— but atheist. Conservative— yet advocating against Trump when the country’s future is on the line. Once married with offspring, but now identifies with gays and is an outspoken advocate of gay marriage. And so on, in fact, not so much a checkerboard pattern but more of a pattern of highly public retractions and reversals of position on matters of critical national importance.

A lifelong pattern of politically expedient changes in philosophy— a political chameleon or a political charlatan— take your pick.

And now, plantation house RINO, writing for the New York Times.

Too bad— at the outset, at least Cupps showed some promise. She could have been a contender.

And, Cupps with her latest NYT opinion leaves no wonder as to why she is so lonely. Loneliness is the totally predictable outcome of talking the talk, but not walking the walk.

The Lonely Life of a Loyalist in the Revolutionary Army

by Benedict Arnold Cupps

I really the the notion of an independent country. Really I do. I like independence.

However I really like King George, you know? He knows what these colonies really need. Stamp Act is not so bad. And so what if King George sends an army to take away our guns with which we rely on to defend ourselves. We really need to kneel together. Unite together. Come together. (Whatever.)

But one thing I do not understand is why I am so lonely when I tell all my former friends this. They keep talking about “integrity” and other nonsense.

Hey, I deserve some respect. I was for George Washington before I was against him!

S. E. Cupp is married, and has a son and has this to say about her atheism:
Cupp has described herself as an atheist, but has consistently stated that she is open to theism, and "really aspires to be a person of faith some day."

Incorrect. She married a fellow named John Goodwin in 2013. They are now the parents of of a young boy.

I'm not sure how they define "bitter old maids" in your neck of the woods, but in most places, a happily married woman with children such as S. E. Cupp wouldn't qualify as one.

Good for her. I have not been interested in her nonsense for quite some time. Always thought she was a bit of a dim wit. Tat being said, it is nice to hear she has married and has a child.

Good for her.

Still don’t give a toss about her opinion. It is less than educated or inspired.

Translation:

“I may not appear to know wtf i am talking about but hey, if a moonbat liberal newspaper pays me to claim to be one thing and write as if I am something completely different than who I claim to be, and it just happens to be in total alignment with all the other overt bias that the newspaper displays, who am I to cling bitterly to my own integrity. It’s easier than being honest, and I am giving the moonbat liberal newspaper some fig leaf cover. I just do not understand why I do not have any friends any more.”
