An organization hoping to facilitate the secession of California from the Union is holding a meet and greet on the Capitol steps in Sacramento next Wednesday, November 9, 2016, or, the day after the presidential election. The Yes California Independence Campaign, which is based in San Diego, is aiming to qualify a citizen's initiative in 2018 to get a referendum for secession on the ballot in 2019. They'll be in Sacramento to garner support for their initiative.

IMHO the former move to divide Kalifornia into two separate states was a great idea and possibly more feasible. I certainly approve of this idea, SUCCESSION.

In case you didn't see my question I will reprint it.:

So how much blood should be spoiled to force a seceding state back into the union?

It is interesting seeing the large number of forces of disintegration abroad in our country.

I would advise any conservative who remains in California to leave as soon as possible. I know that's not practical for many, and I feel for you. But you are in a foreign country, and your government is hostile to you. If you can't change it within the law, then either you have to go outside the law or you have to find another home.

I live in a pinko state. It sucks. I'm surrounded by marxist morons (but I repeat myself ...) who have never met a government regulation or program they didn't like. And they expect me to pay for all that crap. I'm nearing retirement age and I hope to get out of this socialist hellhole the day I pull the plug.

You little passant.

As I stated, California is about 55/45 Liberal vs Conservative.

This form you are gracing with your presence is in California,

I don’t want California to leave the union. It does have strategic importance. It makes up half our West coast with the three leading ports in the whole nation.

I did not raise the issue of a civil war over it. A mentally challenged fool did.

They have been talking about this for years, yet have not got around to actually doing it.

Doubt it will happen but it sure would be nice.

F-——g State couldn’t survive on it’s own so it will become Mexico. And even then it will go into the shi! tank. Mexico is a crap heap of corruption. This is as clean I could put it.

I did not suggest military forces be used to stop California from ceceding.

I refuse to be drawn into an issue I did not support in the first place, and with each new post, you make my first post to you here more spot on target.

Thank you.

Your user name and your post seem to be at odds.
I won’t ask you to explain for obvious reasons.

“We should relocate the bases. Why should the USA pay to defend Kalifornicators? Let them build their own Navy.”

I doubt they could build much of a Navy unless those on (and in) the Right prevail over the Leftists. And if those on the Right could do that I doubt there would be secession.

So, the USA abandons the bases, then the new California National Government makes a deal with the Russians, the Chinese, or somebody to take over and use the bases. The California Leftists might do that. I don’t believe anything like that would turn out well.

And if we kept the bases, maybe we could close Gitmo and put all Gitmo prisoners on a base in the New California. They’d probably fit in better there anyway.

Go for it Cali! We’ll deport all our illegals to you (reuniting familias!), subtract two commielibs from the U.S. Senate and put the Electoral College map on a far more even footing.

Too bad you can’t annex the Northeast while you’re at it. Then you can gay marry and baby abort to your heart’s content while the rest of the states return to praying in school and following after the God of the Bible.

California could very well succeed in winning its independence. Most countries in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and the European Union would instantly grant California diplomatic recognition, the United Nations would invite it to become a member, and China and maybe even Russia could place it under its nuclear umbrella.

Seceding would be the best idea to come out of the land of fruits and nuts since 1850.

As a native Californian, first let me say that all of
you who automatically hate all Californians because
libtards from your own states came here and took over,
you can shove it up your ass. If that remark does not
apply to you then understand millions of us California
citizens have conservative values and have no idea
what these secessionists are grasping at.

This state is a microcosm of the whole country in
a political sense. The coastal region is blue and
contains the most population. The interior is red
and is not as populated. You cannot have California
values and separate them from political and
ideological values which is the same situation you
have in all states. There is no point in separating
from the US if California is still ruled by liberals.
Many of us in Nor Cal are fed up with the lack of
representation we have in state government. The County
of LA has 11 state senators. In my part of NorCal we
have 1 state senator for 11 counties. And, these
secession clowns talk about California values?

Many NorCals would love to split from the rest of
the state and form a new one. It would be a
business friendly and a fairly regulated state.
Politically it would lean to the right which
explains why local Dem’Rats are against it. The
project is known as the Jefferson movement and
some would like that this 51st state be named
after T Jefferson. I prefer ‘California’ and recommend
the old state change its’ name to North Mexico.

California is the “bread basket” of the US. It used to produce fruits and vegetables year round in quantities that fed the nation. California, with its aqueduct, could be that again. Ideology changed Calif. It can be changed back. La Raza needs to be fought along with the EPA.

You are right.

Ronald Reagan was the last presidential candidate to campaign for California in earnest. (George Bush may have too. I don’t recall.)

At any rate, the state has suffered from this. When you have a Conservative as far up the political food chain as a presidential contender champion Conservative policies in your state, it raises the visibility of those policies. It make them much more likely to be tapped.

What happens if only Leftist policy is spouted? Folks start believing that Leftist policy is the only sound one out there. Populations bases shift over time. Right now anyone who was born in 1975, was essentially too young to realize who and what Reagan was politically. Today, in 2016, those people are 41 years old. In their adult lives, they have not heard a presidential candidate offer up Conservative principles in the state. The RNC has been just fine with that.

When Conservative polices are lofted in the state by highly visible people, the public hears it louder. It becomes more acceptable. The populace is then more receptive to candidates who push those policies, because they understand them.

When Simon ran for governor in California, he ran with no help from the Republican party at all, in state, or nationally. I do believe Bush made two stops with him, in months of campaigning. No big names came to support him. No funding was forwarded to him. He was able to spend a few million dollars while Gray Davis spent ten times as much. Davis flew to stops in a corporate jet. Simon rode around on a bus. The media covered Davis campaign because top Democrat names came to California over and over.

We wonder why California is the way it is. Here are some reasons.

1. California was swamped with illegal immigrants. LITERALLY SWAMPED!

2. Californians made a big stink about it. I did right here. You know what the reaction was? Oh that’s your problem. No, it was the nation’s problem. The U. S. Federal government controls immigration, and any and all violations of our laws. It did nothing. Now the brain trusts trash California for all it’s illegals. Ouy!

3. Right here on this forum, I had folks laugh at me for saying illegal immigration was going to impact the nation as a whole, negatively. “Oh that’s California’s problem!” Well, is it? Yes and no. Sure it’s California’s problem. And now it’s the nation’s problem from coast to coast. Connecticut had to deal with their schools being flooded with illegals.

4. As I touched on earlier, top level Republican candidates running for state office get no help whatsoever from the Republican party. Tens of millions of dollars are raised in California for elections every four years. NONE OF IT is spent in California.

There’s no wonder California is like it is.

I say we stand and fight for it. That means we do it in state, and we get the M-F’s at the RNC to help out as well.

California is the world’s 6th largest economy.

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=california+economy+globally&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=

It’s worth fighting for.
