Or another explanation. Zero understands that “being President is good.” He’s enjoyed it and wants to continue doing so. A President Trump who can very easily fund all of his own luxuries and security might decide it’s high time for austerity measures when it comes to ex-Presidents. Those secret service details are awful pricey. And that’s just for starters.

Let’s also consider that the President-elect might well decide that the tradition of not pursuing predecessors for criminal acts should end.

President-elect Trump is a world class negotiator who is holding a whole lot of aces right now.

It would make it a shoo-in for Conservatives to win for quite a while if Kalifornia left us.....

Four years ago, Romney won Orange County by 90,000 votes; this time, Trump lost the same county by about 40,000 votes. Four years ago, Obama won San Diego County by 50,000 votes; Clinton received a 125,000 vote margin this time. In 2012, the San Joaquin Valley was solidly red; this time, it was a red-blue patchwork. In contrast, Trump matched Romney's figures in the “collar counties” around Philadelphia. Around Detroit, Trump improved over Romney's performance in the “collar counties”. Ditto for Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Trump did better in the outer suburban counties around NYC as well, but that is likely due to home state advantage. Hillary Clinton has a similar benefit in the greater Chicago area.

The conservative population of California is dying, converting to liberalism, or emigrating.

At one time, farms around major cities, once known as truck farms, provided much of the fruit and vegetable supply for those cities. Mass production of these crops, much of which was from California, replaced local production. There is no reason that places like, say, northern Missouri or south central Pennsylvania, could be conducive to mass conversion from grain production to orchards, vineyards, and field vegetables.

It will be several years or even decades before they figure that out. Which is why we should let them leave now. :D

The US Constitution is silent on secession. It is not unconstitutional.

Lady you are so wrong. The US Constitutions is silent on the subject of secession. It is not unconstitutional.

So lets say California passes an ordinance of secession and the governor signs it. How much blood do you butchers want to spill to drag CA back into this f-ed up Union? I’d watch what you type if I were you.

Your opinion is not shared. If you think that for one nanosecond that Americans, particularly southerners, are going to fight a war to frog-march a rebellious state back into the union, then you’re greatly mistaken. That’s one difference between the 19th century and now.

If California really wants to leave then I’ll argue against it and be saddened if they do go, but that’s about it. It’s their destiny and if MAGA is too terrible of a fate for them to contemplate, then so be it. Freedom to succeed also means freedom to fail.
