I’m sure that Putin would rather play chess with a chess player than a third rate checkers player.

Trump needs something to offer to Russia for their agreement to stay out of Iran when we decide to eliminate their nuke capability.

And Russia wants nothing more than Ukraine.

All we would have to do is drop the sanctions and agree not to intervene militarily....while reinforcing NATO.

What if he offers to drop sanctions?

And Russia wants nothing more than Ukraine.

Sorry, no.

All we would have to do is drop the sanctions and agree not to intervene militarily....

Or we could frack more, sell LNG to Western Europe and squeeze Russia with even more sanctions?

What do you say, Ivan?

I don't think Putin has much interest in fighting ISIS-- he will leave the dirty work to us and continue to support the Syrian regime.

What's in it for us?

The only thing I can see Putin offering in the Mid East is pulling away from Iran, which I doubt he will do.

Morons at NYSimes. Putin held a rather historic vote that very night in support of Trump. We came closer to WWIII had Hitlery been voted in than most Americans knew.

“Or we could frack more, sell LNG to Western Europe and squeeze Russia with even more sanctions?”

Toward what objective?

Who cares. Assad was doing fine cornering the islamo scum until the USA tried stopping him. Let Putin and Assad clean their own house.

Cold war morons and democrats are in cahoots.

Reducing the ability of Russia to fund Ukrainian separatists and saber-rattling against former satellite countries in the Baltcs and in Central Europe.

I’ve never heard Trump use that term, or anything close to it. Maybe he has . . . .

The Russians haven’t been doing much against ISIS: the focus of most of their fighting has been in the west of Syria, fighting against Assad’s opponents.

Actually, Assad was likely to wind up hanging from lamppost until the Russians intervened.

The Russians haven't been doing much against ISIS: the focus of most of their fighting has been in the west of Syria, fighting against Assad's opponents.

Cold war or no cold war, Russia is not our ally and allowing her to splinter NATO and establish a significant presence in the Middle East (allied with Iran) is not in our interest.
