You’re really a McCainic, aren’t you? Assad’s opponents are ISIs and AlQaeda. And you want us to side with those bastards in fighting Assad (and when they win they’ll kill all the Christians, whom he’s been defending). Thank God Trump has more sense than you neocons

LOL! When he was running it was,"Putin wants him to win and is meddling"

After he wins, it's, "Putin wishes Hillary had won and there will be issues."

I guess their promise to go straight didn't last long....

The whole “Trump is Putin’s man” narration was a manipulation of the left to turn voters off. Apparently, some folks not only believed in that, they think it’s a good thing.

Perhaps they will agree on Syria (although I wouldn’t bet any money on that...) but surely will disagree on many other issues. Simply, to keep holding power in Russia, Putin must do all he can to revoke the cold war results, that’s just what people there regard as “making Russia great again”. So even If Trump decided to shut NATO down, Russians will complain that he’s not willing to give Alaska back.

Some folks would just like to see Russian army at the Elbe River again. If you don't agree, you are are a “cold war idiot”, neocon, globalist and all.

Make money, gain influence etc. Usually people want to see their government to pursue these goals...

I’ll let our Putinist day dreamers enjoy another couple months of their fantasies. Reality will hit on January 20th for them.

One party state fascist Russia is not a friend of the United States and never will be. And now we don’t have an America hating doormat in the White House.

Putin needs conflict to keep Russians distracted while his kleptocracy robs them blind. President Trump will not back down in that conflict. Guaranteed.

No, I'm not a McCainiac: I generally loathe McCain as does everyone else on FR.

I do have to laugh at the bromance with Putin I often see here, however.

Putin is a thug and a murderer whose supreme goal is to see the United States humiliated and defeated.

To many people here, it appears that the US can just "disengage" because it's not in our interest to keep fighting or to confront Russia and the Syrian regime.

But you all seem to forget is that to our enemies, such disengagement looks like a retreat, and like any halfway thinking enemy, they will try to turn that retreat into a rout.

You all seem to forget that the enemy gets a vote, and I cannot understand how having Russia and eventually a nuclear Iran dominate the eastern Med is supposed to be in our interests.
