Savage warns Trump on Priebus: Looks like 'Jeb Bush won'
WND ^ | 11-14-16 | Dr. Michael Savage

Posted on 11/14/2016 6:23:33 PM PST by dynachrome

Savage said he wanted to make it clear he was not turning on Trump.

“I’m not attacking Trump at all,” he told WND. “I am advising Trump to beware. Because, if he loses his base on the first day, what’s going to happen in the first month?

“This is a criticism of the establishment that is so all-powerful that they’ve already entangled him,” Savage explained.

Well he blocked the GOP from supporting Trump.

No, Reince Priebus accompanied Trump on this journey to victory. Are you tired of winning already ? I'm not.

Pray without ceasing that God will continue his mercy and grace to our nation, protecting and enabling President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence to lead us with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge that we may prosper and bless all our citizens as well as our neighbors throughout the world.

My understanding is that Priebus has not fought for the base the way that he should have, and didn’t help Trump much, either.

If you have nobody who knows how Washington is run or know how to deal with the people and procedures there...how do they expect this guy to be successful? Yes, people he needs a few insiders and many people who know how to get things done that are not the typical insider. Those few insiders will hopefully keep the rest from breaking laws and keep them from looking like idiots by doing something they are not supposed to.

I read Rush’s transcript here on FR awhile ago on the question of why Trump is suddenly so conciliatory. Rush does not believe Trump is back pedaling at all. Instead, he’s softened his rhetoric because of Obama.

Rush believes, and I think he’s right, that Obama is extremely dangerous right now. Antagonizing him would be the wrong thing to do.

The whole thing reminds me of a battered spouse who leaves her abuser. Leaving is the most dangerous time for the victim.

Apparently, he was so ineffectual that Trump hired him to be his right-hand man. Is that the reasoning?

No, the reasoning is that I don't see the reasoning. This is the guy who was openly called "rinsed penis” around here for months for his blocking of Trump by the GOP. I'm not into blind faith in politics - like Savage, this makes no sense to me. Priebus is RINO.

Savage has not taken into consideration that Priebus launched a massive ground game where Trump workers knocked on doors rather than do the phone bank thing. This was done in the key states; another smart move. Knocking on doors is becoming the way to reach voters. Priebus had it right and helped Trump get the victory.

Your understanding is wrong.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. Mr. Priebus' job as the head of the RNC was not to help Mr. Trump during the primary, it was to treat Mr. Trump fairly and to prevent other candidates and opponents from treating him unfairly and he did his job well and he did it while under great pressure from the GOP establishment to trash Mr. Trump.

After Mr. Trump won the GOP nomination Mr. Priebus' job changed to being supportive (helpful) of Mr. Trump and I believe he also did this job well. Can you point to any unfairness by Mr. Priebus during the primary campaign or any lack of support after Mr. Trump won the nomination?

I think Trump is rewarding Priebus for a job well done. Priebus’ behind-the-scenes strategy helped Trump get the victory. It was done very under the radar and I think Savage has missed what Priebus was doing. Like Trump says, you can’t let the enemy know what you are doing.

Remember that Priebus has been tossed under the bus here on FR more times than one can count.

Yup, and we had all sorts of funny names for him like, "Rinsed Penis."

Priebus was very instrumental in overhauling the GOP ground game 4 years ago and thus helping Trump win the election and most certainly WI imo.

I don't care if he's the Messiah I'm going to think for myself thank you very much. He just won against half the country who worship blind obedience - I refuse to go down that road. I'm an American - I don't trust politicians. Or country is BASED on that mistrust. And, as president (and I freely thank God for that), Donald Trump has trumped himself out of the business world once and for all - there's no going back, he's now a politician. The top politician, granted, but a politician nevertheless. And that means, as Americans, our duty is to watch him like a hawk.

Well said. Everyone against Priebus has failed to realize that what happened was by stealth perfectly performed. Priebus had a very delicate complicated situation during the primaries. I think he was for Trump all along, but did not want to reveal it. His best move was to treat all the other candidates fairly. This helped Trump move through the nominating process to victory.

During the campaign, Preibus organized a ground game that was done under the radar. The Clinton Team had no idea how extensive and focused it was. It abandoned the phone bank technique and went to knocking on doors. It targets those who are independents and Republicans. The Democrats are not alerted there is a ground game going on. It is the most effective way to campaign. The voter is impressed with a candidate who will have the grass roots walk the precinct and contact them personally.

I do not think Donald Trump needs Savages’ public advise. Seems like showboating to me.

I evaluate him in this manner, what would have happened to him if Trump had lost? Ignominy at best and explusion at its worst. He took a huge risk. Maybe you Trumpnuts (term of endearment) had no reservations but I did and the fact that Reibus stood tall and fast despite the jeopardy it put him in helped me settle in on Trump and it improved my image of Reibus.
