Someone dies about every 6 seconds in US. Not crying over it all.

Have they restarted any of the nuke plants?No...they still don't know where the fuel rods are. They're decades from being able to call that place safe...if ever.

This is pretty bad. People are probably dying as we speak. I'm with you, there's some on FR who feel the need to joke at every tragedy. I don't understand. Any word on how bad it is up there?

3 meters means a wave around 10 feet tall. If I remember correctly, during the 2011 earthquake, the tsunami wave hit the Tohoku region coastline at a height as high as 140 feet! No wonder why the death toll from that earthquake/tsunami was 18,000 dead.

Could you guys just for once drop the Godzilla crap? Is that all you can relate to about Japan?
No kidding. They suffer disasters about like Haiti.

Almost as moronic as Amish this and Amish that.
Worth a chuckle, once, many years ago, perhaps.

I remember well watching NHK live during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, with the frequent telephoto images of the Fukushima nuclear plant, even before the full extent of the damage was known.
I get chills thinking about that event (and the tsunami videos that I later watched) - certainly hope that the fears of potential tsunami with this event do not materialize.

Onahama port - Iwaki, 60cm height of tsunami seen at the sea walls?
The Tsunami warning horns are chilling.

My word..! Is this 7.3 on the US scale or the Japanese one, I wonder..?
Either way that’s pretty big, though very far South.
Good ping, thank you..!

Those poor people—there were films of people running away or driving away during the last tsunami-——and they didn’t make it.
Dreadful.
