Source: Trump will not seek to prosecute Hillary Clinton

This is just coming out this morning and it’s only attributed on background to “a source” with knowledge of the transition team’s thinking, but Donald Trump is supposedly not going to pursue any prosecution of Secretary Hillary Clinton over her email transgressions or even the pay to play activities of the Clinton Global Initiative. The story popped up on MSNBC’s Morning Joe during the first hour and it immediately prompted questions as to why this would be coming out now. (To be fair, there wasn’t a rush of other folks confirming the veracity of the source.) Perhaps it’s something to do with the fact that Barack Obama is about to pardon a turkey so Trump felt a matching gesture of magnanimous generosity was called for. In any event, the show put it out on Twitter as coming directly to Joe Scarborough from the source in question.

Personally I think that’s a mistake.

The rule of law must be upheld. One of the reasons for the Trump earthquake was a growing sense of outrage amongst average people that the politically well-connected were above the law.

This is also a slap in the face to employees of our intel services who are charged with guarding classified data. Any one of them would be in Leavenworth for 1/10 of what she has done.

Either Trump has info that she’s dying, or he is trolling Obama into not giving her a pardon IMHO.

The Clinton Foundation must be prosecuted, if that involves small fry falling on their swords for the Dear Leader so be it.

It's not well-known, but the Clinton Foundation is already being investigated by the IRS:

The Dallas IRS Office That's Quietly Determining the Fate of the Clinton Foundation

All we need is honest leadership at the IRS, then let them do their job.

I agree.

Just as there were lots of people looking for a show trial of Nixon, that would have been counterproductive.

We killed the beast. She would be running at 74 in 2020. She is a mess now at 69.

The Clintons are done. At least for 8-10 years. And by then, very few will remember the 1990’s as clearly.

Let her crawl under a rock and go quietly into that good night.

That is for 3rd World cesspits.

Just wait for the next time we have a Republican POTUS and the Democrats get control of both houses. It'll be special prosecutors out the wazoo.

First, the law is the law. She is a crminal on any number of untelated counts.

Second, given Trump’s lack of power til Jan. This is the best strategy. Say as little as possible.

Congress cannot prosecute and jail her. This is the PERFECT RINO solution—”investigate” with no consequences.

At the expense of putting the entire Trump agenda on hold for years while Hillary Criminal is prosecuted? That’s the price.

VERY WELL SAID! Except the ending, which leaves out the most obvious conclusion: Trump’s caving.

In the Alt-right media and some of the more “out there” sites, there is talk of some pretty nasty stuff coming out about the Clintons and Podestas.

My guess is that the political class may be in for a rough couple of months if any of this stuff is remotely true. Read through Podesta’s emails and tell me they are not writing to each other in code.

Trump needs to stay away from that stuff. Sure, let her go on the email stuff. My guess is she will be hip deep in a lot of other stuff, with other people coming soon enough.

It would be unseemly for Trump to actively pursue this - it will also be perfectly fine if he just stays out of the way if other issues end up being investigated - there’s lots out there for a FBI/DOJ that is actually working to enforce the laws of the land.....

Speaking of IRS I want justice for the use of IRS as a political weapon...OR face it being used as a weapon from now on to forever.

I WILL keep your post in mind, and get back to you, but I GUARANTEE you Sessions will also do nothing. I’ll be back to apologize to ALL if I am wrong.

The race of about-to-retire FBI agents to the book agents will be amazing.

Trump has no control over it. It would be up to Sessions if and when he is approved by the Senate.

Point is...?

HRC will play the Parkinson’s card and the whole thing will go down the crapper.
Really, who is going to prosecute a septuagenarian with Parkinson’s disease (either real or not)?

Now...what is the exposure of the young “hubble-child” called Chelsea?

Trump’s caving already.

I don't think so. Seems more like oil on troubled waters. Anyway, prosecuting HRC is not his call, not directly. Firing Comey and Lynch, those are his tasks. Then let the process go forward and see if an independent prosecutor is recommended. Trump needs to keep his distance from this messy business.
