President-Elect Donald Trump has not yet announced his pick for Secretary of State, though the press has speculated on several prospective candidates. You, the Breitbart reader, were instrumental in Trump’s election victory and the continuing rise of America’s nationalist-populist movement. Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton 27.94% (1,712 votes)

Former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney 7.62% (467 votes)

Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani 35.2% (2,157 votes)

I would love to see Rudy in a legal position or one that has to do with the illegal immigration issues.

Petraeus made the mistake that has ruined a lot of good men’s careers. I still cannot understand how otherwise bright, talented and rationale men continue to succumb to the centuries old temptation of illicit sex. But, it happens and they often pay the price with their careers and reputations. I used to be a big Petraeus fan, but he disappointed me greatly when he dropped his trousers for that Autobiographer. Sorry, it hurts, but that is just the way I feel. Such a waste!

Rudyard wouldn’t have to lobby for it. It was his if he had wanted it.

It’s a popularity poll.

I like the Romney pick, not because I like Romney but because of the power message it sends.

Anybody but THIS guy. Trump's reach out to him was a very gracious gesture to ATTEMPT to draw the Pubbies back together.

That the Mitster has, so far at least, NOT apologized for the HATCHET JOB he did on Trump and his foolish and fortunately FAILED scam to deny Trump Utah by funding McMuffin out there, makes him ABSOLUTELY UNSUITED to a high slot in the new administration.

George Friedman who founded Stratfor and now is head of Geopolitical Futures, an online publication that analyzes geopolitical events. I’ve read Friedman’s publications for years. He is a student of history, geography, and international relations. In addition he is not a neocon, not an isolationist, and not a politician. He is an independent strategic thinker.

Here is a link to Wikipedia on Friedman. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Friedman

“Who Should Be Donald Trump’s Secretary of State?”

General George Patton. If he is not available then how about Genghis Khan? Or the reverse!

Why wouldn’t Trump at least think about bringing Condoleeza Rice in?

Maybe some of the countries aren’t ready for a lesbian couple at state dinners.

Well, sh*t, why not have Paul Wolfowitz and Eliot Cohen job share?

Robert Kagan for SECDEF! Bill Kristol for Press Secretary!

I like Bolton. He is the most knowledgeable about foreign affairs and the inner workings of the State Department. He knows where the State Department Skeletons and Bureaucrats are that need to be cleaned out.

Precisely. After "Justice," the bizarro world over at State, at Foggy Bottom, is in most dire need of delousing. They've successfully evaded decontamination for decades, and they would have Romney sitting in a corner drooling and talking to himself within two hours. Bolton knows the problems there, and what's at stake, not least among those problems is the fact that State will actively work against both the President-elect and the nation's interests to perpetuate the institutional corruption. It's a palace of lies and academic and cultural Marxism, at taxpayer's expense.

Giuliani is a Globalist, at heart, but a grand-stander. The Secretary of State is first among equals, and the job needs bolstering after the totally incompetence of Clinton and the numbskull Kerry.

That would be a good choice - hadn’t thought about him.

I really like K.T. McFarland, too - very bright and articulate lady (was in Reagan admin).

Why not Rudy for AG? That seems like the logical position for him rather than SOS. This is like Carson for HUD. Why not Surgeon General?
