“Mulè said after finding a fire extinguisher that did not work he ran to get his camera...”
Yes, that’s exactly what I would do. Run to get a camera as people are burning.
Those old wooden structures are death traps.
They are so dry it’s a wonder more people don’t die in them in blazes like this.
They are just disasters waiting to happen.
Wonder who in the city gov didn’t shut them down so they could keep on getting property taxes?
Of course I did the time honored tradition of posting a comm net before read the whole article.................city was on this. the owners broke the law......
The article mentions “artists”; I read elsewhere that the first Friday has arts on display in that area. Hence, “rave” is brought up but it sounds like it was more where people interested in the arts congregated.
..........In my opinion, “someone” committed one or many crimes that enabled this fire to happen.
Adhering to “normal” regulations, a fire this lethal is not likely to happen.
In our society though, since winning doesn’t matter, or losing, holding someone accountable for killing dozens of people can’t happen either can it.
Come on dancers, honor this tragedy through heavy dosing and grinding!
RIP.
I don’t care about the “art” that was in the building, or whether or not it fits someone else’s definition of art. These kids did not deserve to die such a horrible death. How many of us made choices at that age thinking it was “cool” at the time, but now look back and say “what the hell was I thinking?” I suspect many of these kids would have someday fallen into that same category, but now will never get that chance. Prayers for the families of the victims.
Pray that God doesn’t visit you with that you so harshly criticize in others.
