It was the Russians who stole the election for him.

I checked over at Dummyland breaking news to see what they had to say about the Louisiana results.

Wait for it....

drumroll

Nothing.

Total radio silence.

They didn't even have a post blaming it on the Russians.

Kennedy was almost 60 years old when he became a republican. Not had time to research it, but if he’s still pro-abortion that’s not good. The majority of his elected life he was a democrat, becoming a republican in 2007. I would suspect he claims pro-life now, which is good. Still light-years better than any democrat, unless he turns into Lindsey Graham.

There is a post at the DUmp about this story posted about 15 hours ago. Just the usual handwringing.

Very good news. We now have 52 Republican senators. Even better news when you consider the following:

From Wikipedia: "Currently, Democrats are expected to have 23 seats up for election (November, 2018), additionally 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats are facing the end of their current term. Republicans are expected to have 8 seats up for election."

There is a very good chance we will pick up at least 8 senate seats in Nov. 2018, and thus get to the magic number of 60 Republican Senate Seats.

Sixty seats in the senate plus a House Republican Majority plus President Trump equals Making America Great Again! Victory!

I became a Republican forty years ago and haven't once looked back. Democrats of fifty years ago were "blue collar" Democrats and believed differently about things. Now THEY are gone with the wind.

ANYone who claims to be a Catholic MUST have voted against the "abortion-on-demand" party. Otherwise that person should turn in his/her rosary and become (in alphabetical order) animist, Buddhist, Jewish [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism_and_abortion] or Protestant.

EVEN the Saudi Muslims don't practice abortion. It is anathema to them. They accept and love all their children.

I hope Kennedy has changed his views on abortion.

Excellent !

Kennedy is a proud Trump Republican

As would his namesake be if he were alive today. He opposed Marxism and (whatever his faults) was a patriot. The modern Dummycrats have no place for such men

HEY! Protestants don’t want those hypocrites either. Don’t you go dumping your garbage in OUR yard; we have quite enough to clean out ourselves.

Protestant denominations allow abortion. That was my point.
Nothing else, so don't get your shorts in a bunch.

And if you consider that "garbage" then so be it.
The Catholic Church does NOT allow abortion, period.

Besides, ALL cultures, countries, faiths and nations have "garbage" to clean up. That is part of being human...making messes.

Abortion, however, is murder of God's youngest and most innocent of creatures. We all know that but SOME faiths don't consider that it a problem murdering those children of God.

MY denomination doesn’t allow abortions.

Many others don’t as well.

Whereas many Catholic bishops are happy to give a wink and a nod.

So in other words, we all got problems.

I wanted to post the Fox News article on this, but it had NO statistics, so I was stuck with the NY Times which lists all the statistics including the Kennedy race..

The Catholic Church does not allow birth control either. The want to promote birth of more Catholics. Interesting factoid, the largest number of converts to Atheism or non belief come from Catholicism. There have been efforts to have the contraceptive view officially changed given the severe Zika danger in Latin America. On the other hand in the US, most Catholics do use birth control.

I wonder which denominations don't allow abortion. But, then you might not know that.
I've tried, on occasions, to ask denominations just WHAT the difference IS between denominations. No one could give me any kind of answer.

Lol. Catholic bishops giving a "wink and a nod"?? They wouldn't be bishops for long. A bishop is simply a priest with more responsibilities. If any bishop DID that he might be transferred to another See where he might do more good. He would MOST definitely be reprimanded.

YES, we all have problems. But, ABORTION remains a grievous sin, a MORTAL sin. Catholics don't consider all sins equal. Murdering babies isn't the same as telling your mother-in-law that her "ugly" hat is very nice when she INSISTS on a comment. There ARE "black" lies and "white" lies. It's even in the vernacular.
We Catholics must confess our sins, all of them. We are bound to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion at least twice a year. I don't think any other faith has those obligations. But, then, Catholics are bound to do MANY things that other Christian faiths do NOT require. I have a nice list if you would care to read it.

We also have a world prelate, the direct descendant of St. Peter, [266 popes to date over the last 2000+ years] to deal with moral issues. Jesus did know what was to occur with all His people in this world and made sure that His Church was prepared.

.

PAX TIBI.

Interesting factoid, but believable. The road of Catholicism isn't very wide or tractable. It IS the "straight and narrow." But, then we weren't promised anything different in this earthly life, were we?

As for your "most Catholics use birth control" statement, that sounds like something from a mainstream media byte, unreliable but MOST desirable to be believed. It was probably from one of many of those "interviews" that is also MOST desirable to be believed.
However, any first-year statistics student will tell you ALL about the unreliability of the "interview method," that is, THE most unreliable method of gleaning knowledge information.

I am not getting involved in a Protestant v. Catholic debate.

I simply want to inform you that there are many, many non-Catholic Christians out there who actually DON’T support murdering the innocent. Shocking, I know.
