John McCain doesn't know what to make of Trump's Russia hacking response

Responding to intelligence officials’ report that Russia tried to influence the U.S. presidential election in favor of President-elect Donald Trump, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain (R-Arizona) on Sunday said he doesn’t know what to make of Mr. Trump’s dismissal of the issue.

“I don’t know what to make of it because it’s clear the Russians interfered,” he told CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “Whether they intended to interfere to the degree that they were trying to elect a certain candidate, I think that’s a subject of investigation. But facts are stubborn things. They did hack into this campaign.”

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” Mr. Trump said Sunday that new revelations about Russia’s influence on his behalf are “ridiculous.”

“It’s just another excuse. I don’t believe it,” Trump said. “… Every week it’s another excuse. We had a massive landslide victory, as you know, in the Electoral College.”

McCain called for a select committee to further investigate the extent of Russia’s influence and intentions.

“I would like in an ideal world to have a select committee,” he said, adding that he would hope such a committee would be made up of leaders on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Foreign Relations Committee and Armed Services Committee.

IMHO: He either is so far gone he doesn't know what he is doing or he is a democRAT through and through or he is so infiltrated he works for them...

He never said a thing about what Hillary was doing in Syria, Benghazi, or anything else, but when something comes out about her, he is right there ‘Johnny on the spot’ to protect her...a Clinton Foundation Supporter probably...and he has never said anything about ‘Fast and Furious’ or anything that the Bushes did about shipping out all the Saudis that were here on 9/11...makes you wonder where his loyalties lie doesn't it???

you people are acting like Jon McCain’s opinion is important. It is not and he doesn’t know any more than anyone else does.

there was zero misinformation in this. The information that came out were the actual emails of the DNC and their cohorts.

In other words they just got caught saying what they actually and really said because they were too stupid to protect themselves.

McCain was pimping for the Kenyan in SR 511 and saying we didn’t have to be afraid of Obama.

Why does McCain keep pushing that America dodged a bullet by electing Obama in 2008?

Every voter in the U.S. knew before voting of the claim that the Russians were trying to manipulate the campaign. It was a key point made by Hillary, in fact. So, the voters knew.

I don't know. I'd say, "Every voter knew IT WAS CLAIMED that the Russians were trying to manipulate the campaign." That's not the same thing, and I'm not convinced that the Russians would have preferred a sane, businesslike America-first Trump to an unstable but black-mailable Hillary.

There's something else at play here. Going back a couple of generations, the US government enjoyed the presumption of belief, but that's been badly damaged over the years. GWB was no saint here, but Clinton and especially Obama lied to us daily. Whose first response now is to trust government claims without checking that they are not self-serving for the party in power?

I agree.

Posting from my iPhone earlier I typed in the same exact thing. Then I dropped out of the app before I could post the thought. I didn’t bother trying to post it again.

Appoint him. Get a replacement. Can his ass.

Do the same with Gramnesty.

"I KNOW PEOPLE WHO JUST GAVE MCCAIN AN 80 YEAR OLD A 6 YEAR TERM IN THE SENATE."

It was just last week that Rush said the average age of a dimocrap in the house and senate was 76 years old.... I'm sure the same could be said of the republicans but, in any case....it's getting just plain crazy...

A LOT of these folks need to be pointed toward the door and given a swift kick..!

Exactly, stop letting the establishment setting the terms of the argument. There is no clear ANYTHING, and notice the word “interfere” as in what? Exposing the truth? They’re trying to make it seem the messed with the actual votes being counted.
As if the MSM wasn’t running interference on behalf of witch woman and the globalist agenda?

Not a bad idea. Though, I doubt he would serve in a Trump cabinet.

Yep. See my last post. I think the same thing. Someone needs to say there is no clear evidence of anything, and all you’re talking about at most is exposing real documents and information. The voters made their choice.

Once this foolery gains a bit more momentum, someone in AZ needs to initiate a recall of McNumbNuts, and send him home for good!

Federal officeholders — senators and congressmen — cannot be recalled. This has been litigated in federal court (Idaho, 1967) and state court (New Jersey, 2013).
