Kellyanne Conway says she declined press secretary job
Washington Examiner ^

Kellyanne Conway, senior advisor to President-elect Trump, confirmed Monday that she had turned down an offer to serve as press secretary for the incoming White House, a role she described as critical given that the eventual spokesman will face a "hostile press."

"I have politely declined that job," Conway said Monday morning on the "Hugh Hewitt Show" radio program. "I think it's an incredibly important position to fill."

Although the Associated Press had previously reported that Conway rejected an offer to serve as press secretary, her admission Monday marked the first time she had confirmed so publicly.

"As you can imagine, if it's President Trump's administration, communications will be a very important aspect of it, and there will be a number of people handling that," she said.

He’s been doing pretty good but I don’t think many of us trust him. Mr. Trump has a veree smart brain though. He must be ok.

What is it with the Sarah Palin contingent...?

She’s a patriot and fine women...

Why in the world would she want to jump back into the serpent den of DC and leave her life of Alaskan reprise..?

I can understand why some are suspect. He’s from Wisconsin. Home to Paul Ryan the worst. But I actually think Wisconsin has some great politicians in Scott Walker and Sean Duffy among others.

In 2018, a whole bunch of Dem Senate seats come up for election. I could see Trump wanting her to run campaigns for challengers to every one of them.

I don’t think her family is fine.

There is a history of some family member or another having an ‘incident’ just as Sarah gets back into the limelight, and then she’s forced to return to Alaska.

It does seem like Sarah is jinxed. Just when you think she's making a comeback, something happens to make her rush back to her family. I remember right after she endorsed Trump last year and started touring with him, one of her kids got in trouble with the law. Then you have the husband's serious injury that required her to be with him for months. Just bad luck I guess.

Maybe we will see Palin with a role at some point in the Trump Administration. But I will always give her credit for paving the road for a Trump populist victory in 2016.

If it were me, I’d ask Milo to do the job.

Every press briefing would be riotously funny & informative.

Rudy is aces :) I’m glad they were at the game together.

Strong message of support from Trump.

I bet Rudy was honored and thrilled. I’m glad for him.

Newt Gingrich for Press Secretary!

That would drive the msm nuts!

And, he would be really, really good at it.

Why does Trump need a press secretary anyway?
He can tweet, he can go on youtube, and he can hold his own frequent press conferences and stir up the prestitutes enough all by himself.

He should avoid the filter of the communist media as much as possible.

Talking to the press all the time without being allowed to blow your stack at them would have to be one of the worst jobs in the world. They will no doubt attack any and everything Trump for the next 4-8 years. I can’t imagine anything worse than dealing with them politely all the time.

Press Secretary, with a few exceptions like Tony Snow, is a flunky job. They frequently are younger than anyone making policy. The PS is frequently left ‘out of the loop’ so they do not unintentionally reveal something they should not. Their job is usually very limited.
