More than a third of all the trees in California – more than 100 million of them, covering roughly 7.7 million acres – are dead.
But it’s OK, because the forests are largely empty anyway, given how we as a glorious human species have thoughtfully killed off half of all animals on planet Earth, all in just the past 45 years or so, because people.

My dad and uncles once regaled me with stories of hunting woolly mammoths and saber tooth tigers back in the '50's. Sadly, people like Trump came along and slaughtered all of them. I will never get to hunt mammoths because of Trump.

There are too many factual errors to address in the article, but I would suggest a Californian do what Colorado did when the Pine Beetle ravaged the Colorado forests a few years ago. Start a logging company, get some of that wood, and make valuable products out of it before it just burns up in a huge forest fire.

I think we need to start penalizing the news media for using all that paper. Plus all the chemicals used to bleach it into white paper.
I mean they penalize people through tax policy. Gas tax, grocery bag tax, tire tax, travel taxes, cigarette taxes.
They go after mines that strip areas of trees even though they replant the areas later.

The trees died because of a beetle infestation you didn’t want anyone to touch, you liberal moonbat.
The trees are dead because instead of tending the forests, the new diversity hires are navel gazing in sexual indoctrination classes, while the Sierra Club was blocking all timber sales and lobbying to remove fire roads.
As the drought cycle came like it always does cities burned while the overgrowth stole the water from the big trees.
10 million dead standing trees now waiting for a match. Won’t be much left after the diversity hires get done.
That presumes people are listening to them. Clearly, in the wake of Trump's election, that has changed somewhat.
