President Trump hung a portrait of Andrew Jackson in the Oval Office on Tuesday, The New York Times reports, an apparent nod to the populist sentiments of the new administration.
Trump's rise has often been compared to the populist election of Jackson, including by some of the new president's own team.
Chief White House strategist Steve Bannon called Trumps inauguration speech on Friday Jacksonian, saying it struck the populist and patriotic tones Jackson was known for.

In 1838 and 1839, Jackson ordered the removal of the Cherokee Nation out of its lands east of the Mississippi in a massive forced migration now referred to as the Trail of Tears.Jackson left office on March 4, 1837. Van Buren ordered the removal of the Cherokees.
The author of this article is either misinformed or a liar. Reagan also had the Jackson portrait in his Oval Office.

“CNN: President Trump hung a portrait of Andrew Jackson, a black save owner, in the White House.”
That is like this gem;
President Trump forces black family from government housing on first day in office.

An appropriate quote for both men, in my humble opinion.

Jackson had severe digestive problems, and there were only a few things he could eat without experiencing discomfort.

Andrew Jackson was the first populist President and brought down the second National Bank (private Federal Reserve). Doubt this is the same painting.

There is also a big old statue of the guy across the street.
I think the snowflake will get over this once he finds something else to cry about.

The lib news media is researching Jackson right now ...they will be sure to bring up whatever negatives they find tonight. Trump is giving them so much to do their heads are spinning.

He was certainly the progenitor of modern concepts of the role of the Chief Executive in our system. He was an innovator; the kind the Founding Fathers expected would come sooner or later.

He also fought the good fight against a national bank.
Made plenty of mistakes too, but he did do a few good things.

I can see a lot of President Trump and Former President Jackson together...
‘Old Hickory’ was no one to play with, and neither is President Trump...
President Jackson was neither ‘Republican’ or ‘Democrat’, he was an American President...
President Trump will be neither ‘Republican’ or ‘Democrat’, he also will be an American President...

Apparently Andrew Jackson used to hold open parties at the White House and invite everyone in off the streets.

That would have been the 2nd Central Bank, the Federal Reserve Corporation is the 3rd, you can see how well it has turned oput, just like before.
