As Miami-Dade Mayor proved by abandoning his citys long-standing status as a Sanctuary City demonstrates, President Trump is a broom that is sweeping clean. Hes dramatically changing how government is supposed" to work, focusing instead on making government work better for all Americans.
After what some considered a false start, Press Secretary Sean Spicer has emulated the President, imposing new procedures on a reluctant, self-focused press corps. Kudos.
This transformation began when Spicer abandoning tradition began his very first press Q&A by calling on less well-known reporters, instead of deferring to favored, front row media. He then doubled down by stripping the senior-most press corps members right to close each press briefing. Both of those press perks gave the White House press corps real power over these briefings.
That was in fact a great start, but even more is needed to take back control of press briefings.
Spicer is the Presidents surrogate. He needs to abandon previous press secretaries behavior many were just far too deferential to the press. That deference closed an open conduit between their Presidents and the American people. So Spicer should keep challenging the press corps prerogatives, resetting the ground rules of the game.

I think that pompous smirky ass bespectacled poofter with the light hair in the first row should be “banished from the island” myself. Snarky-a$$ SOB. Right along with that hag Mara Liasson. They are NOT the stars there, or here, for that matter.
Wonder if Mara will be able to get by on her Fox News paycheck after Trump pulls the plug on NPRs funding?
One thing that could change because of the speed and intensity of the Trump Administration (still sounds so good!) is that comments about actual actions, i.e. real news, will drown out speculation about what is coming next.
It would be very funny for President Trump to Tweet during press briefings.
That hag is so years ago. She has existed on her so-called reputation for far too long. She’s nothing but a liberal bitch plant in my opinion. She deserves nothing but a pasture, if even that.
And get rid of reserved seats for the msm.
There is NO legal requirement for POTUS to maintain a press pool or to even have a Press Secretary. Kick these leftist pukes to the curb and let them screech about it outside the gate.
Make them all sit in 1st grade chairs
Yours is better.
No multiple questions. Pick days where he calls on low level media and one string service...like reuters
Great move!
Afterall, aren't the dimRATS all about fairness. /sarc
Those are the PEOPLES’ seats! Especially in the front rows. These Obama and Clinton holdover ba$tards there now need to recognize they don’t mean sh!t anymore.
Bump
No more follow up’s, they are nothing but a chance to challenge the Press Secretary’s answer.
One question, one answer and move on.
Trump can say what he wants to say via Twitter, Facebook, and the White House official web site. He could do away with press interaction entirely, while still communicating with the American people.
Sean should just remove the damn chairs and shove a few more sardines into the can just to make it more uncomfortable for them...why should they even get a seat this ain't about comfort it's about news.
.......as much as I like that idea..then it would just give the presstitutes a chance to call him Nixon....
Exactly.
