A crowd of an estimated several hundred people gathered on Amherst Town Common to protest the Muslim ban executive order Sunday afternoon.
Protestors held up signs that read, Let our friend back. He is just a student following a dream #StudentsAreNotTerrorists, Stand against hatred and True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.
I think everybody is out today, in particular, because of this ban on Muslim people and Muslim countries, Denise Beaudet, a global art and activism campaigner for Roots to Resistance said. A lot of people went to Bradley Airport today. It was a big, big protest. Anyone who couldnt make it there I think came here.
I have to pick and choose, because theres a lot of issues right now with this administration, said Susan Buckland, an Amherst resident who was granted citizenship in July of 2011. A couple are really close to my heart. One is the immigration issues. I was allowed citizenship in 2011. Had I been a Muslim today, I would not be here and Ive lived here most of my life. [The executive order] is wrong, thats a criminal offense as far as Im concerned.

On Sunday, Jan. 29, the president of the University of Massachusetts, Marty Meehan, released a statement regarding President Donald Trumps executive order on immigration.
Meehan included in the statement that he is honored that UMass has thousands of international students and as a whole the campus is discouraged by the executive order, as it violated the rights of members of the UMass community and many others.
Since the signing on Friday of the Presidents Executive Order restricting entry to the U.S. by citizens of seven foreign countries, our International Students and Scholars offices, assisted by other staff from across our five campuses, have been working to connect with students, faculty and staff affected by this action and determine how to assist them, Meehan said in the statement.

Of course, these are the snowflakes of Amherst so what else can be expected by a town of Peter Pans?
#StudentsAreNotTerrorists
Yeah, right. Only Progressives could come up with such twisted logic. Just because a Muzzie is a student, he can’t be a pedophile terrorist? Right.
Looking for Muslim money at unmassUmass
Actually there are quite a few students nationally who've committed rampage killings and terrorist bombings.
#StudentsAreNotTerrorists
Except the Moroccan one up in Canada who shot up the mosque, right?
Students are in the prime age vector for committing jihadist terrorist acts. Isn’t it something like young men between the ages of 19 and 30?
Mahty Meehan...the Hack’s hack.
One of the most intellectually challenged individuals on the planet.
Just bought himself, thru ZooMass, a waterfront condo in Boston worth a cool million.
We’very had students and educated individuals turn out to be serial killers, just saying.
Wow. Who would have ever expected to see demonstrations of over-the-top leftist political craziness in Amherst, MA of all places?
I’m stunned.
Holmes in Colorado, a student who went on a mass murder rampage in a movie theater.
Why there’s even a famous ZooMass alumnus, by the name of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Nothing better to do to waste their parents’ money.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed was a college student.

Not the same campus but you’re right!
There is no “ban” on Muslim people. If you are going to express an opinion or protest at least make yourself aware of the facts first.
Stalinists gonna Stalin.
