The second letter from Coretta Scott King urged Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch not to repeal sanctions on employers of illegal immigrants, because of the devastating impact it could have on unskilled and semi-skilled workers, particularly in the black and Hispanic communities.

In case you didn’t see it, Warren delivered a very long rant, including the reading of a letter from Coretta Scott King, to smear Sessions. This letter sounds like Sessions would say. I meant to post this in Front Page News but I forgot how to do that....
African-Americans dislike Hispanics on a personal level. At least that’s been my experience. Mutual hate between those groups.
Low skilled labor is being replaced by illegal laborers. No workers comp, minimum wage, social security payments, and work for cash off the books. Companies do this directly or by hiring subs who hire the illegals.
This is why black unemployment is at a record high, especially in large cities. They’re being replaced by Hispanics.
No idea why Republicans won’t drive a wedge between these two groups. Oh, that’s because the Chamber of Commerce and Cheap Labor Express politicians WANT the cheap illegal labor.
That's a big reason why conservatives voted for Trump. We have seen Republicans fail us on immigration too many times. He has shown that he can defy the Dem-GOP conspiracy. Let's hope he stays true to his promises.
I noticed this week Hannity lambasting Republicans for ‘not being ready’ to replace ObamaCare.
They support it!
Look how many ‘repudiated’ Trump after the nonsense p-grab story came out. They were perfectly fine with Hillary and the Uniparty staying in power.
Trump needs to watch his back. We need to get the RINO old guard (McCain, gay Lindsey) out of power.
BUMP!!!
The Media is not interested either. They could see out of both eyes but choose not to.
Back around 2011, I was reading a personal account of a guy who figured out his cousin’s meatpacking business growth. The cousin had gotten some big grocery contract around the 2005-era for a grocery in the Ohio Valley area. Lots of profit built into the contract. The cousin had figured out a method to increase the profit....bring in mostly all Mexican to do the physical work. Other than three or four supervisors...the rest was underground labor (no insurance, no social security, nothing but $7 an hour on labor). The guy had trailers put up on some remote property....trucked the workers in...paid cash, and ensured no contact with the general public.
I think all across the south and rust-belt....you can find hundreds of operations like this. Small operations with dozens or hundreds of illegal employees. Cops are in on the deal...as are Republicans and Democrats. No one wants to disturb this venture of capitalism.
You are correct....at the heart of this matter...blacks are the ones screwed mostly out of employment. No one will pick their cause or point at how corrupted politics has become.
Enforce E-verify.
You would need an army of 10,000 federal audit personnel going around and sniffing at virtually every single business in America...on a monthly basis. That’s why E-verify is worthless.
Not necessarily. Uncover a few dozen companies found not complying with the law and prosecute. The consequences are pretty severe. After sentencing, advertise on national television with names of companies and their CEOs in handcuffs.
Bump
Yes Strengthen E-Verify. Punish those Companies that break the law and Publish the results and the fines on TV!
Do this a couple of times and You will see results and self Deportation. Get Rid of the Carrot that brings them here to the US.
I am not against Immigration, I am against Illegal Immigration.
That, and work your way "up the food chain". The corporate buyers of those "discount services" are well-aware of how it is they're getting a "good deal".
Right now e-verify is voluntary. There are bills to make it mandatory.
In the midwest, too. Farmtown, RFD is half Mexicans now.
Until employers butt hurt from using illegals, no change is coming.
Thing is, there’s either too few entry level people around to refill those jobs, or too few willing to do that work, or both, at the going payrate. Sans a ‘workfare’ program, pay will most likely have to go up, and also product prices.
It’s an opinion letter....and no more.
What a heaping, steaming pile of BS. Obviously you don't know how e-verify works or the I-9 process for that matter. You need to investigate what making e-verify mandatory in AZ (upheld by SCOTUS) did to the job market and self-deportation by illegals.
There are currently 602,621 employers voluntarily enrolled in e-verify. The system processes 13,805,913 cases year.
E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information from an employee's Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to data from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm employment eligibility.
E-Verify's most impressive features are its speed and accuracy. E-Verify is the only free, fast, online service of its kind that verifies employees' data against millions of government records and provides results within as little as three to five seconds.
Today, E-Verify is:
Used nationwide by more than 600,000 employers of all sizes
Used at more than 1.9 million hiring sites
Joined by about 1,400 new participating companies every week
One of the federal governments highest-rated services for customer satisfaction.
Hopefully, Trump will get Congress to make the system mandatory and expand the use of USG databases to screen job applicants and current employees. The addition of data from immigration records, police files, etc. would be helpful.
Employers who knowingly try to subvert the system should be heavily fined. Shutting off the job magnet will go a long way towards stopping illegal aliens from entering or staying. The current mandatory I-9 system is rife with fraud. It will be more difficult to commit such fraud under mandatory e-verify.
Legitimate employers wishing to comply with our laws will welcome mandatory e-verify. It actually protects them. If they use e-verify, they have insulated themselves from fraudulent hiring by using the system.
Yes, it's an opinion, but the first Coretta Scott King was another opinion letter that made the front pages, and will come up again in "Warren for President 2020" speeches. The second letter shows King agreeing with Sessions and Trump positions.
In politics opinions matter.
