Lets say you go on vacation...
and while you are gone a illegal alien family moves into your home and the pregnant wife gives birth in your living room.
you then come home...
do you let them stay? I mean .. heck.. the baby was BORN there in your living room! it would be racist to kick them out dont you think?
So the law which permits “birthright” citizenship has to either be changed, or correctly interpreted. Until we do so those children of foreigners are as American as our own.
I’ve heard arguments both ways, bad interpretation or bad law. Since I’m not a lawyer or a judge I can’t say which is correct. If it has to be changed those born here already will be grandfathered as ex post facto laws are a no-no.
