Shoot, sheets are the easiest to fold - - unless you try to be neat about it. Why bother since they’ll just get wrinkled as soon as you sleep on them. :-)

In the midst of Al Jolson’s rendition of this song is a quote from a very popular Civil War Era song called “Mockingbird”. It later became the Theme Song for the Three Stooges, and most people our age (ahem) remember it in that context.

That is why it was SO INAPPROPRIATE for Ken Burns to use it as background music while showing the pictures of the Dead at Gettysburg in his hours long documentary “The Civil War”. Perhaps the music from “Lorena”, “Aura Lee”, or The mournful “Vacant Chair” would have fit the images better.
