On the face of it, it looks a lot like Australia’s compulsory voting law. But we are not Australia, and that law is still controversial over there, although apparently not enough people are inconvenienced by it to demand a repeal.

We should never concern ourselves with how many or how few vote. We should always concern ourselves with whether those that vote are informed about the candidates and the the issues. Low information voters gave us eight years of Obama. High information voters gave us Trump.
