It’s not like they recently shouted it from the rooftop. Apparently, the Washington Compost cited a 12- or 15-year old article.

Billy Graham did this sort of thing, not only to avoid the appearance of impropriety, but to avoid possible gotcha photos that can be used for blackmail.

Suspect blackmail is common in DC - how else do you explain Justice Roberts’ actions on Obolacare?

Libs are po’d that they cannot use this tactic on Mike Pence.

There’s no shortage of Biden or Bill Clinton in compromising positions but that’s different because they’re the good guys...

You're on the wrong website, FRiend. There are thousands of us evangelical Christians here. The Bible is not "kookery" and if you think otherwise, DU will welcome you with open arms

I didn't say the Bible was kookery, I said this smacks of evangelical kookery. Not the same thing. And I am not on the wrong website. This isn't the religion forum. It's a news/activism thread, and my point is valid. If conservatism remains or rather becomes primarily religious based only, and older and older demographically, it will go extinct in the next generation. Not even debatable. Go watch Gavin McInnes' YouTube video called "10 secrets about Fox News...." It was posted on FR. The part about the demos is pretty telling.

I don't think many here fully grasp how offputting this kind of suff is , Not just to liberals, but many people who would be inclined to get on the conservative program.

I think Pence is more interested in protecting himself from blackmail. I would be if I were him.

That would be 100% valid, but that not how it was presented.

The article misses the point

The reason for not eating or other wise meeting singly with a woman is to insure some bitch will not blackmail him.

The Book of Wisdom was written about 100 years before Christ.
The author is unknown.

I haven’t read Luther’s objection to this clear prophecy of Christ and the plotting of his detractors.

Wisdom was in the Septuagint in use at the time of Christ.

Recent Dead Sea Scrolls show that some of the books he diminished were indeed in Hebrew, although I don’t believe Luther ever used that excuse.

Rather than noting that many women would love their husbands to have the fidelity that Pence clearly possesses...

I'm not sure what Pence's fear is. Does he not trust himself around women? Or he does not trust the women around him?

And it sets up a “gotcha” moment where sometime in the next 4 years Pence is photographed with an attractive younger woman. WaPoo will put it on the front page.

That and rules like this are catnip for the psycho contingent who take it as a challenge to see if they can get Pence to bend the rules “just for bthem”.

Probably a little of both. He realizes that in the position he is in that he has few close friends, Most that are clamoring to see him to pat him on the back or kiss his ass, which terminology you choose, are after a political favor or looking to ensnare him. There was probably i hook for him somewhere in the meeting he turned down. Else they would not be screaming to high heaven.Harry Truman is said to have said,"If you want a friend in washington, D.C.., go buy a dog."

So then you’re suggesting that Pence’s actions are due more to his position than his religious beliefs?

I had not even thought about his religious beliefs, but he could have factored them in. All of a sudden this has became too complicated for me. One could do some deep thinking on this. I will go eat a crab cake while the deep thinkers mull and ponder this.

So acting like a moral gentleman is a kook.

Rotten modernistic amoral degraded secularism has infected your consciousness.
