McCain: Anyone Claiming Nuclear Option Is Good For Senate Is A ‘Stupid Idiot’

“I would like to meet that idiot, I’d like to meet the numskull that would say that,” he told reporters. “That after 200 years, at least 100 years of this tradition, where the Senate has functioned pretty well, they think it would be a good idea to blow it up.”

McCain said changing the rules would be a “body blow to the institution,” adding he thinks it puts them on a slippery slope.

.
.
McCain said he’s had numerous conversations with members on both sides of the aisle in an attempt to strike an agreement on the matter.

It’s not good for the Senate. And the blame lies with the Democrats who made it necessary.

Democrats have used the so-called nuclear option if I’m not mistaken, so what’s the old crank on about now?

The correct description is: Senator John McCain (R-ISIS).

The Rs won't use the "nuclear option". They will use the "Reid Rule". Reid said

I really do believe that I have set the Senate so when I leave, we’re going to be able to get judges done with a majority. It takes only a simple majority anymore. And, it’s clear to me that if the Republicans try to filibuster another circuit court judge, but especially a Supreme Court justice, I’ve told 'em how and I’ve done it, not just talking about it. I did it in changing the rules of the Senate. It’ll have to be done again, They mess with the Supreme Court, it'll be changed just like that in my opinion, So I’ve set that up. I feel very comfortable with that.

He said "in my opinion", but we all know without a doubt the Ds will do it the next chance they have. The filibuster is dead because of Reid.

dementia probably enhanced by his time as guest of the North Vietnamese Communists. Perhaps the Congress did function pretty well —when a Southern Democrat could beat someone with his cane half to death. Yup that was real
bi-partisanship/brotherhood . The Democrats have used this
childish game -so have Republicans as a means to force others to cede to childish demands.IF the Democrats do as
they seem intent upon doing the Nuclear option is a justified means of correcting the strong willed child by not surrendering to the tantrum.

Figures McCain would side with the enemy.

Seems, once again, that Trump was right when he instinctually dismissed McCain as a “hero” early in the campaign.

As quoted by Senator McCain:

“I would like to meet that idiot, I’d like to meet the numskull that would say that,” he told reporters. “That after 200 years, at least 100 years of this tradition, where the Senate has functioned pretty well, they think it would be a good idea to blow it up.”

Take a look across the aisle, John, and pay a visit to your old buddy, now retired, living the good life out in Nevada. I count 48 plus 1 candidates for your numskull award.

It was and is the Obstructionist Dems who have destroyed Senate Tradition. And it is numskulls like you who support them and deflect blame to your own party.

Shame on you, numskull.

The only nuclear option that McCain heartedly endorses is the option to nuke all enemies of his terrorist friends.

Makes me wonder if he is showing desperation with all of the comments he’s been making because he knows that the deeper the intelligence goes he will be found out to have been involved in some shady stuff. That or he could just be a bitter man.

“McCain said changing the rules would be a “body blow to the institution,” adding he thinks it puts them on a slippery slope”

Bullshit! The only slippery slope is where the democrats, among others, find themselves as they are being flushed down the drain...in the swamp. The more they flail, the quicker they’ll go down. Just keep the way clear and keep it moving, then pave it over enough to seal it up for a thousand years!

I’d have more respect for this guy if he would just change parties and get it over with already.

He does more damage pretending to be a Republican.

You have to wonder just how close he works with the Democrats.

They Senate lost its purpose when the state legislature stopped appointing Senators. They are essentially more powerful house members now

Just One undeniable FACT irretrievably has destroyed the credibility and reputation of John McCains United States Senate and that one Fact is that in the last 75 years it’s cumulative votes have systematically enriched its members while destroying Americas future security with 25 Trillion in debt.
