A bit of humor for this hour and I think Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo would approve of the notion that even in trying times, a little laughter goes a long way. From one of the funniest movies ever produced:
"We're Going to War!" from Duck Soup
Great number by perhaps the greatest comedy team ever.
“Remember, we’re fighting for this woman’s honor, which is probably more than she ever did.”
It’s rather amazing that if you ignore Groucho’s make up, Harpo’s wig etc, the four brothers look almost EXACTLY alike.
You can really see that later in this movie in the famous mirror scene when Chico and Harpo impersonate Groucho.
Occasionally, on the stage, Zeppo filled in for Groucho, and the audience never knew the difference.
Not without reason that Groucho at least once referred to Margaret Dumont as “the fifth Marx Brother”. One of the finest comic foils ever. When Groucho received his honorary Oscar he remarked that he wished Dumont was still there.

About 45 years ago, my brother kept me up late and said I would see the funniest movie ever. We laughed for an hour and a half.
It’s actually the cd in my laptop right now! :)
HUGE fan. No wait, A Day At the Races is in right now.
Have ALL their movies.
But Duck Soup is hysterical.
“I’m a man of one word, scram”
“Did you bring my his record?”
“In one hour, even a’ less than one hour, we los’a the picture”
“He gets mad cause he can’t read” after Harpo rips up a telegram in disgust.
“it’s the only water we got” “well it’s the only woman we got”
“sorry that’s old business now” :)
“That’s a good idea. While you’re at it you can wash your neck too”
have the damn film memorized :)

love them BUT that one part was a swipe at guns :)
Better than just one half of God’s children having guns!
But they kill me.

Two of my many favs.
The shadowing routine with Harpo, Chico, and Ambassador Trentino is great.
“Chcolini here may look like an idiot and act like an idiot and sound like an idiot, but don’t let that fool you. he really is an idiot.”
Then there is :
“Chicolini, now that you’re Secretary of War, what kind of army do you think we should have?”
“Well, I think-a we should have a standing army.”
“Why should we have a standing army?”
“That-a way we save money on chairs.”
I love the Cabinet meeting. And “The Laws of My Administration” is hysterical.
I thik “Animal Crackers”, “Duck Soup”, and “A Night at the Opera” are their best work, in whatever order you want to put them — but even their worst movies are better than most teams’ best. As Joe Adamson wrote in his book Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Sometimes Zeppo, “Love Happy would have been the height of any other comedy team’s career, and everyone involved with it wishes it were.”
(BTW, I happen to be one of the founding officers of the Society to Prevent Abuse to Zeppo — SPAZ.
There is a comedy troupe that plays at our local Renaissance Festival called Shakespeare’s Skum. They do fractured Shakespeare (turning the tragedies and histories into comedy.)
They inspired me to try my had at “Julius Caesar”, and Groucho’s given name being Julius, it wound up being quite Marxian-influenced. (I even invented a character I named Harponius, who appears in the “friends, Romans, countrymen” scene, which winds up resembling a scene from “Animal Crackers”.)
