Where is Pope Francis in the wake of socialist mob assault on archbishop in Venezuela?

Less than a week after 49 Egyptian Christians were massacred in two bombings in Alexandria and Tanta during Palm Sunday mass, Venezuela's socialist thugs stormed a Wednesday Holy Week mass, assaulting the presiding archbishop of Caracas, the church's worshippers and trashing and looting the church. The attack wasn't on the same level as the terrorist bombing, but it signaled an emboldened and increasingly violent state, which may well have been drawing inspiration from the horror in Egypt.

As one wag on Lucianne.com put it:

Communism: the other religion of peace.

The archbishop in question, Cardinal Jorge Urosa Sabino, was no ordinary archbishop. For years he has blasted the horrors of Venezuela's chavismo for leaving the poor more impoverished and hungry than ever, even as it purports to speak in its name. He's denounced dictatorship and warned of its ascent in the country. Along with many archbishops, he's tried to warn Pope Francis that materialistic communism is an unmitigated disaster for the country.

The Vatican response to this desecration of the mass during the holiest week of the Christian calendar has been total silence. It's almost a curious echo of the Vatican's lack of outrage over the assault and murder of a French priest as he said mass in Normandy, France.

Pope Francis is a close friend and admirer of Maduro just as he was a close friend and admirer of Chavez.

Francis talks about his supposed concern for the poor but only to use as a weapon against free and prosperous countries. Francis supports the human suffering in Venezuela where a brutal totalitarian government is literally starving its people to death and killing and torturing them if they dare to complain.

Pope Francis is an evil man.

He is not a man of God. He is not a Catholic.

The Catholic church had better wake up and realize they voted a Christian hating commie to lead them, and do whatever is necessary to remove him from his office.

Oh there’s a wide range of choices.

- Crapping in the woods (ala Steve Martin)
- Diddling little boys
- Ruining yet more Catholic tradition
- Appeasing Muslims
- Building the walls higher while telling others they’re bad
- etc.

This pope is the Church’s equivalent of Obama.

Might be God’s lesson. Don’t lean on a particular preacher, even one as exalted as a pope.

Maybe the Roman church is seeing, though from a different angle, why the Protestants protested. Officialdom walks off from the Lord in a visible manner so now what do you do?

"The Catholic church had better wake up and realize they voted a Christian hating commie to lead them, and do whatever is necessary to remove him from his office."

Not necessary. Catholics have direct assurance from Jesus himself that God will take care of it. He has before.

I think that the only other forcibly removed Pope was centuries ago and he was thrown out of a window. I don’t see that happening here. As I’ve said before, we’ve had worse.

Believe me, we all know. The Catholic Church is in de facto schism on account of this Pope.

Jesus taught that “Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, there will I be also.”

The need for an earthly priest was done away with on the cross, with the last sacrifice.

We have direct contact with God the Father thru our personal representative, Jesus, His Son.

No need for a Pope, or anything else between me an God......................

To Jorge Mario Bergoglio (”Pope Francis”), Nicolas Maduro is closer to his twisted version of Catholicism than is the victimized Archbishop. This is why the Satanic Jesuit so lavishly praised Castro after his death.

I disagree. I think the pope should say nothing about this for several days at least. Here’s why. Venezuela is headed for a violent revolution. The clergy there know they might be targeted and are willing to take the heat. They want Maduro out of power. Everyone in Venezuela knows this. The best thing to do is let the Venezuelans get mad enough to handle this themselves. Pope Francis by speaking out would be shifting the focus to he himself and his words. Let the focus stay on the actual situation in Venezuela to develop organically. Attacking the Church there won’t help Maduro. It makes him look like the thug he is. It makes his followers look like the thugs they are.

Like your comment and agree. The long string of sins of the popes is no mystery, but today a pope’s new sins are instantly disseminated on the web. Must make him pretty uncomfortable.
