Students, donors fleeing Drexel over prof's inflammatory tweets

The professor who tweeted that “all I want for Christmas is white genocide” is now under investigation by Drexel University for his “extremely damaging conduct” on social media.

George Ciccariello-Maher recently tweeted that he wanted to “vomit” after witnessing someone give their first-class airline seat to a uniformed soldier, and later made his Twitter account private following Campus Reform’s reporting on his recent tweet encouraging Philadelphia residents to shut down a recent Charles Murray lecture at Villanova University.

Hopefully Drexel will get Mizzoued. That will be the only way to knock any sense into colleges.

He exposes his culture with that statement. He lives in an echo chamber where that is a reasonable thing to say.

It is best to carry if you ever find yourself making physical contact with that particular echo chamber.

Sun rises in the East.

Sun sets in the West.

Death.

Taxes.

Venomous liberals claim violence-inducing speech and slander is satire.

Why any parent would pay for their kids to go to these type of schools is beyond me.

“Hopefully Drexel will get Mizzoued. That will be the only way to knock any sense into colleges. “

This country would do well to shut down nearly all of our “institutions of higher learning,” because they are all hotbeds of anti-Americanism, and drive all their “professors” out of their cushy jobs. One could make the case that many of them could be prosecuted under the country’s RICO laws.

Maybe he and Rachel Dolezal can do a speaking tour. Match made in heaven, or, somewhere.

Not even comparable. The Drexel prof represents the leftist pigs. Mizzou was an orchestrated smear campaign led by Africans from Chicago, BLm, and several out of state assets. The claim was institutional racism against Africans, the big lie taken by the old media to the viral stage. Illinois was the beneficiary in this financial attack since most of the out of state students were from there and have elected to stay home now.

The colleges encourage their profs to show their hatred for this country. They then deserve the responsibility for the actions of their profs.

The bio on the Drexel website.

I am very excited to have joined the Drexel community after having taught political theory at U.C. Berkeley, San Quentin State Prison, and the Venezuelan School of Planning in Caracas. Everywhere that I have lived, from Caracas to Oakland, has impacted my approach to teaching, research, and how I understand the world more generally, and I expect Drexel and Philadelphia to do the same.

My research and teaching center on what could be called the “decolonial turn” in political thought, the moment of epistemic and political interrogation that emerges in response to colonialism and global social inequality. My first book, We Created Chávez, is a theoretically rich “people’s history” of contemporary Venezuela which locates the origins of current political dynamics in the long-term history of Venezuelan social movements, demonstrating that Hugo Chávez was not the cause, but rather the result, of a broader and more fundamental transformative process.

and more...

Good. I worked there from 1991-1998 as the lead tech managing the administrative and student computing systems. It was a great job, and the place was pretty apolitical back then.

I thought that was satire, until I followed the link.

FYI Drexel is best known for an extensive internship program that places students in private industry, especially in the engineering field. Just about every university is liberal but no reason to believe Drexel is radical. Its reputation is for real world business experience at major companies.

California’s Diablo Valley College is next in line to be decimated by radical faculty action.

An adjunct professor has been identified as one of the violent anti-Trump Berkeley protestors - who viciously attacked someone with a bicycle lock.

How damn dumb do you have to be to see the wreckage of social experiments throughout history yet choose to ignore it? Guys like this should never be hired in the first place.

Drexel supported this guy when it all first went down.

Now after losing money and prestige they react?

What ever happened to just doing the right thing?

Drexel can burn for all I care at this point.

When I read your post with the excerpt, my first thought is “this is satire.” But then I followed the link to his bio, and found that it is actually what he posted on his school bio.

And all I can say is “Wow.” This guy clearly has lost touch with reality; he lives in some sort of fantasy land of make-believe. He has no business teaching anyone anything.
