Complaint: Representative Hank Johnson Violated Rules Assisting Former Aide Jon Ossoff
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 4-24-2017 | Brent Scher

An ethics watchdog will notify congressional investigators on Monday of its finding that Rep. Hank Johnson (D., Ga.) used his office's taxpayer-funded resources to assist the campaign of Jon Ossoff, a former Johnson aide, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) says Johnson violated congressional ethics rules that ban members from using their office for partisan campaign activities, and will submit its complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics.

FACT says links to positive stories about Ossoff were posted on Johnson's official congressional website. Ossoff has worked both for Johnson's office and as Johnson's campaign manager in the past.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the links were removed from Johnson's website after it reached out to the office for comment over the weekend.

Specifically, FACT alleges that Johnson was using his official website to campaign for Ossoff, his former aide who is now facing off against Republican Karen Handel in the runoff to replace health Secretary Tom Price in the House of Representatives.

The group points to links to recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution stories about Ossoff and 6th District voting that were recently featured on Johnson’s official website. The links were removed over the weekend, shortly after the AJC requested comment for this story.

The House Ethics Manual states a lawmaker’s official website "may not include personal, political or campaign information."

I wasn’t aware that Jon Ossoff worked for the biggest clown in congress.

I hope people have better sense than to put a clown show like this in DC.

Are you asking that with a straight face? Or do you not know their demographic?

Johnson misusing campaign funds; maxine waters paying her daughter over 100K out of campaign funds; emanuel cleaver the same; andrew cuomo’s “book deal”; democrats being democrats is as surprising and earth shaking as the sun rising each morning.

Exactly. When Marion Berry was re-elected, all bets were off. As long as they yell “I hate YT” long and loud enough, they could barbecue a constituent’s child and get re-elected.

Yet, to point out the obvious, even on FR, is to invite accusations of racism.

I'm sick to death of this debacle. We championed equal rights for all, but all it's accomplished is to produce a spoiled category of Americans. And, as the father of spoiled children, I can attest to the fact that they rarely grow out of it. Once "special", always "special."

It is hard to comprehend that we actually have elected people in office that are that ignorant.

You got that right. As “equal before God and the law” has been shown to not be the same thing as equal in inherent gifts, equal in outcome, etc, the “special” are doubling down on their “specialness”. They didn’t live up to the hype of their promise-as our ancestors in their common-sense wisdom knew would be the case-so now they’re dispensing with the fig leaf of desiring true equality, and nakedly demanding the kind of “equality” marxism demands-equality of low standards.

Many don’t seem to realize that equal rights must necessarily come with equal responsibility or else the system doesn’t work.

It is hard to comprehend that we actually have elected people in office that are that ignorant then reelected them until they die or get put into jail.
