Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins Warn Trump Not to Fire Robert Mueller

Senate Republicans are warning President Donald Trump not to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, despite growing concerns about Mueller’s conflicts of interest and his approach to the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

On Monday, reports emerged that Newsmax Media CEO Chris Ruddy had suggested that the president was thinking of firing Mueller. The president has the constitutional authority to fire a Special Counsel.

However, the suggestion was opposed vehemently by Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Susan Collins (R-ME), according to Politico.

“It would be a disaster,” Graham said. “There’s no reason to fire Mueller. What’s he done to be fired?”

Politico quoted Collins as saying that firing Mueller would “certainly be an extraordinarily unwise move.”

However, there is growing opposition to Mueller’s appointment among conservatives outside the administration.

Mueller is known to be close friends with former FBI director James Comey, whose credibility he would have to weigh against the president’s if Mueller decided to probe whether Trump committed obstruction of justice by expressing the hope that Comey would be lenient with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

In addition, Mueller has added a former Clinton Foundation attorney to his investigative team. The attorney, Jeannie Rhee, defended the Clinton Foundation against Freedom of Information Act requests regarding Hillary Clinton’s illicit private email server

Sessions should point out that Mueller had far stronger reason to recuse himself (decline the appointment) than Sessions ever had. Fire Mueller and his Libtard staff of Democraps.

If Mueller were an honest man he never would have accepted the SC appointment. He would have said, “I am honored to be asked, but I as I am personally close to James Comey, a central figure in these matters, it would be inappropriate.”

OR WHAT? Congress is obstructing Article II every way possible right now today!!!! Worthless POSs, the Uniparty. We need a Revolution to clean this swamp, IMHO that is what is going to take. We don't have time to wait for Article V, although I fully support that alternative.

There is a Special Council under false pretenses. The whole thing is a farce.

I have a feeling that Sessions is going to straighten a few things out.

One things for sure...he doesn't like being called a liar and if everyone did their research, they'd find out that not all meetings have to be acknowledged....as nothing except general knowledge is discussed.

How ya doin' does not count as a meeting. Even Comey attested to that. Then they asked Comey...what if they had a picture taken together...Comey said...that depends.

Fire him and explain it. And then call out every GOP politician who supports this witch hunt.

I believe that Muller is a Democrat and a Democrat has no honor, or principles, and bad character. They are of their father, the Devil and his desires they will do. He was a murderer and liar from the beginning and so are they.

Right!!! If Graham or McCain are for him, then, we know it’s bad. Get rid of Mueller.

I would not fire Robert Mueller. Instead I would appoint another Special Counsel to investigate the real crimes here.

The real crimes are: 1) concocting a false Russian Trump Collusion theory to justify unmasking and surveillance of private US citizens; 2)passing that information to the Clinton campaign; 3) improperly pressuring the FBI on an active investigation into Clinton’s mishandling of classified information; 4) the improper tanking of any investigation into the Clinton Foundation; and 5) after the election misusing and leaking classified information which should include all matters leading up to and including the appointment of a special counsel.

If Trump did this it would be GAME OVER!! Mr Mueller would suddenly find his little coup d’etat under investigation. Let’s see how he responds then.

Let’s face it, we can’t as a country allow what is going on to stand. If it does, none of us is safe. The authorities could whip up any wild conspiracy charge against us without a shred of evidence. “But the charge would be so serious” an investigation would be warranted. At the end of the day,
with so many laws on the books, it would only be a matter of time before they found something to charge us with.

This is exactly what is happening to Trump.

Start by firing the whole lot of all the Obama holdovers, then move on to folks those people hired followed by the people they hired. Repeat as needed.

That should get the whole bunch of them.

The dims are going to whine no matter what so just do it once and get it over with. After things are running smoothly the voters won’t care anymore.

FNC is going totally FULL RETARD right now. They do a story ridiculing and debunking the Trump firing of Mueller story and the next story is with some moron to discuss if Trump does fire Mueller could he get away with it. This is total retardism. No wonder FOX has lost its audience. FOX has sunk to single digit I.Q. level. An historic FOX “WTF?” moment.

“It would be a disaster,” Graham said. “There’s no reason to fire Mueller. What’s he done to be fired?”

The question isn’t what’s he done to be fired. The question is why has he been hired.

The Special Counsel was appointed to investigate a claimed conspiracy between Trump people and the Russian government to hack the election.

But no one can point to any reason to believe Trump or his team committed such a crime with Russia.

Our constitutional system of government does not contemplate the appointment of prosecutors to make general investigations of people for which there is no reason to believe they have committed a crime.

This is something out of the Soviet Union.

Deputy AG Rosenstein needs to revoke the appointment. He made it; he should revoke it.

If the Special Counsel is not terminated, I predict >50% probability that President Trump will be impeached and removed from office as a result of the Special Counsel investigation.

The Special Counsel was authorized to investigate Trump for any “link” to Russia.

That would authorize investigating his entire life and all of his business activities, because a connection to Russians could turn up anywhere.

Scenario A: The Special Counsel makes a comprehensive investigation of all real estate sales of condos or other properties by Trump, in order to determine whether the Russians were involved somehow. This takes months, or years.

They find a condo sale to a guy who sat on a zoning board that approved a Trump golf course. The Special Counsel hires a real estate expert who testifies that this guy got a sweetheart price.

The Special Counsel gives immunity to some flunky who testifies that his boss Trump knew all about the deal.

The Democrats, the MSM and the Never Trump fake conservative media shriek hysterically what a horrific crime this is! Bill Clinton only lied about a bj! This is actual government corruption by Trump!

Dems + GOPe vote to impeach.

Scenario B: The Special Counsel hires top tax attorneys and investigators, very expensive people, to do a comprehensive review of Trump’s tax returns going back many years, to see if there was some connection to Russians.

After months or years of investigating, they contend that Trump failed to reveal a document to IRS auditors relevant to their review of transfer pricing of international licensing of intellectual property within The Trump Organization.

Some flunky given immunity by the Special Counsel testifies that the Boss knew all about it.

The Democrats, the MSM and the Never Trump fake conservative media shriek hysterically...

Etc. etc. You get the picture.

This Special Counsel needs to be ended.

Graham, Collins and McCain are enemies of this administration...as well as others of the OLD Guard....that’s not going to change anytime soon...and the demorats will use them as they always have.

What’s more significant is the GOP who have supported this President are not taking a stand. Rather their silence, once again is deafening. Which also is not going to change,....so that’s what we have to contend with.
