A gunman believed to be a supporter of former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders sprayed a hail of bullets at a GOP baseball practice Wednesday morning, critically wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and injuring four others before U.S. Capitol Police took down the rifle-wielding assailant.
Scalise was in critical condition Wednesday afternoon, MedStar Washington Hospital tweeted. He had surgery after being shot in the hip and was initially said to be stable.

Said to be stable before surgery. All post surgery needed for gunshot— comes out to SICU and are critical.
Update: President Trump just came from visiting Scalise, said Congressman in tough shape. Will need more surgeries per hospital.
Not many articles/reports on Congressman Scalise nor the other shooting victims. I suppose Disney, Comcast, Time Warner, Viacom (ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS) don’t really give a damn.
Not sure if this has been posted, but Kimberly Guilfoyle is reporting that the bullet traveled into Scalise’s pelvis, shattering bone and injuring internal organs.
He will need more surgery. Sigh.....

If you object to posting the hospital’s official release of his condition, then obviously reality is not a big thing in your mental process.
BTW, in case you missed the hospitals 11:00 PM news release, it is now worse then reported earlier.
The Congressman has had multiple surgeries and multiple transfusions due to the fact the bullet shattered bone, blood vessels and internal organs. He will require additional surgeries, and his condition remain critical.
Hope all you want, but don’t object to the posting of the reality of the situation.
Just because you have surgery does not make you critical. A change in status does aka a bleed, a change in vitals, kidneys, lungs,etc. It could be any number of things.
That’s why I said just because you have surgery, even for a bullet wound, does not necessarily mean you are critical. Something had to have changed in his overall condition to cause the change in status.
Not to mention every pt has their own nurse.
That’s not good. Now you’re talking intestines. Bacteria and bile leaks,and bleeds. Not to mention risk of throwing a clot if they did hip surgery. We need to pray for him.

I stayed up late fretting over this not only because he’s such a well-liked guy but also because so many FRiends seemed to hint at payback. If this escalates, everyone loses. I hope we can vent through creative pranks, hazings, boycotts, satire, etc. because this could get a lot uglier otherwise.
He sustained a very serious (anatomically) GSW likely to cause dozens of bleeding points, infection, and significant tissue loss.
He’s in very good hands, but in cases of this nature, sometimes the surgical team’s good work isn’t enough.
If he dies, I wonder if there will be retaliation in some form?

Some of the most diabolic medieval tortures involved damage to those organs. Yes, if this is lethally septic/etc we are going to need to redirect retaliation to non-violence.
I would rather see videotaped hazings, hear about pranks at Shake-the-Spear at the Park, etc., and record boycotts than hear about ‘wacko-right-wing shooters’.
