Understand they wouldn’t have been able to take weapons to DC.

Who would have stopped them? It wasn't until they entered the Capitol or their office building that someone would have checked them.

Well, they’re GOP; they follow laws. Go figure.

allow congressmen and women to carry in D.C.

No. Absolutely not. If the rest of us have to be disarmed, so do they.

It does make one wonder why James Comey and friend(s) haven’t been arrested as the leakers.

Jsy Sekulow argued why Mueller should step down; and he’s absolutely correct.

We are witnessing a Democrat coup, FRiends. /Captain Obvious

According to a number of articles I read on this, they were shot with a rifle. Unless you are wearing a long coat, how do you conceal a rifle? And can I assume there were FBI folks there that would have been a little curious about a guy walking around in a long coat with a limp?

So how does the stylish second baseman hide a concealed weapon? In the old days, the players in the field left their gloves for the other team to use. Just a thought.

You already have that right, you idiot. It's called The 2nd Amendment.

Exactly right!

The first question that came to mind when this event hit the news and one of the R's was wailing, "By the grace of God, one of the folks here had a weapon to fire back..." was, "And, who decided to arbitrarily abridge that pre-existing God-given right, and by what authority?

His statement should remind even the dimmest politician that the Constitution does indeed apply until in accordance with its terms it is amended by our political representatives.

It even applies in a macro sense to the Judical branch and its defeat of the president's attempt to prohibit certain clearly perceived "threats" from crossing our borders .

“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
- Rahm Emanuel

We need to learn from America’s enemies in the Ctrl-Left and use this act of pure evil for good (mirroring their effort to use acts of pure evil for even greater evil) - to pass concealed carry reciprocity. Just as states respect each other’s driver’s licenses, they should respect each other’s concealed carry permits. Both the Full Faith and Credit Clause and the Second Amendment suggest that this would be an appropriate topic for federal legislation. As part of that, they should pass and sign the Hearing Protection Act of 2017 (or make reciprocity part of the Hearing Protection Act).

It is appropriate to use this attempted mass murder (attempted rather than actual because the shooter was a classic democrat, i.e., inept) to rectify a serious flaw in our laws that contributed to the vulnerability of decent people.

And they do it to their own detriment apparently. The bad guys ignore laws and our people suffer for it. I’m sickened.

—while I feel that the Second Amendment should be absolute for any law-abiding citizen ,some years ago Senator Orrin Hatch got around D.C gun laws by having himself appointed a non-paid deputy U.S. Marshal——

Exactly. Being stupid only pays if you're a politician, this time their stupidity brought alot of them within a lucky circumstance of not being killed. They won't learn.

Yes, national CCW reprocicity. Everyone, not just LEO and members of congress.

According to Senator Rand Paul “about 100 rounds” were fired in 10 minutes. Resulting in 5 wounded. The shooter’s weapon has been identified as an SKS, 7.62x39mm. 100 rounds of 7.62 weighs slightly more than 3.5 lbs. How many pounds and pre-stuffed mags do you think he carried? The local PD was there at about the 10:30 minute mark from what I can tell. There is no possible scenario where this guy could of “killed” them all, with his lousy hit rate and the local cops closing in, as the hysterical OP alludes to. The math doesn’t work. The last thing I am is naïve, just very pragmatic.

As a taxpaying citizen, I would be willing to put in the federal budget to provide a glock and 5 or 6 spare magazines for every member of congress and the house. They will have to pony-up for their own holsters/rig though.

Thanks for replying. I am sure that we will get the full story as to his spare magazines Etc. My point is that it does not take a lot of ammo to shoot people in a dugout. Once at the edge of the pit, the congress critters were toast, The back up may have been arriving at that same time, or they may have been a little late. Like I said, without return fire from the capitol police he had them where he wanted them. You may be right that he was running out of ammo and maybe that is why he went down, but it will be best to wait until we get the real story, being held back by the investigators for now.

Is true his hit rate was not good, but he did not have a sniper rifle.

>> If your driver’s license is recognized why not your CCW? <<

The “Full Faith and Credit Clause” of the Constitution allows Congress to set conditions under which the laws and acts of one state shall be recognized in other states. In other words, reciprocity is not necessarily automatic.

Just think how differently this could have turned out if just one concealed carrier had been in the area. It is time for national constitutional carry.

Liberal heads would explode.
