recommend looking first at nine swing states...they all could use another conservative...

Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Hampshire or Florida.

needs repeating!!

“Something is wrong here. Move away from your family after decades? Choice yes but taxes? Stand and fight!”

BINGO! This is exactly what the Liberals hope you will do, leaving state after state to them and their evil ways. What are you going to do when there’s no place left to move to? What I read here is a bunch of gutless pseudo-conseratives who are from the “cut and run” wing of the party. I guess we can be thankful that they didn’t make up the majority here when King George had to be sent packing.

“Move to Tennessee!”

And have your glasses sweat like a beer bottle every time you leave your air conditioned home or car all summer long. Temperature 95 degrees, relative humidity 95%! And enjoy waterskiing in water moccasin-infested lakes. Been there done that, no thanks!

Not true. TN has 6% state income tax. But may have some deductions based on income.

The taxes aren’t a whole lot better in Nebraska, BUT, the people are much nicer, there are fewer liberals and overall lower population density, and it’s a been a pretty good place to raise a family. We’ve got shall-issue CCW and fairly decent gun laws.

Also - I refer to our Unicameral (the only single-house legislature in the country) as the Bad Idea Factory. The upside here is that if you’ve got a Bad Idea Factory, it’s best to only have one conveyor belt leading to the loading dock.

Our first winter here was bad. We’d been told by all our neighbors that they generally had a few snow days each year, comparable to our previous city. But this past year we had the worst storm since 1985 (I think). They called it a ‘100-year storm’. Snow was on the ground for a full month. We were traveling when it hit & it had compacted into ice by the time we got home. We had an issue with a cover my husband had bought for his truck. Snow weight caused the struts on one side to collapse, although the structure held. There were many snow-related problems in other towns - collapsing roofs because of the weight. But that was unusual.

Right now it’s hot - 101 yesterday. We’ve managed to take all in stride. Air conditioning in the summer, & staying home if the roads are bad in the winter. It’s still a much happier place if you’re a conservative.

I spent 2 years in Iowa during my college years. Nicest people anywhere in country. Winters can be harsh, but one can dress up for cold, how do you dress up for hot & humid?

"Florida weather....today it's close to 90F and 90% humidity, yikes...."

Ah, but I remember plenty of 90 degree weather in Illinois summers...with no beautiful white-sand beaches nearby to go to.

I wouldn't want to be a roofer in Florida, but with the Gulf five minutes away, two pools in our homeowners association, air-conditioned cars, stores, homes, restaurants, etc....let it be 90, who cares. Not this retiree!

I have a old photo of me in my swim suit, opening a gift while reclining in a lounge on my patio....it was Christmas day!

I have lived through a tornado in Michigan, a hurricane in Maryland, but experienced no hurricanes in Florida. Lots more crazies in the NE, upper midwest, and the Pacific states.
But....”chacun a son gout.”

Yeah, they do that.

At least Iowa went the right way in 2016; that’s hopeful!

I didn’t know you were in the Tri-Cities. Hi! I’m upset about the new Richland bridge tax though, apparently it applies even on motorbikes (I have seven).

Yes, but it will be nice to get to the Walmart quicker from 240.

Have you thought of hiring a private cable installer to hook up the line?

They will not allow me to connect unless my address is along an existing route.
