The blackmail tax bill just passed and now going to the Governor's desk. I pay about 6K per year in property taxes and fees. No kids in school after this semester. I can work remotely from anyplace with high speed internet.

some random thoughts. Wherever you go, always remember what broke Illinois. Don't bring any of that with you. Don't think it will work somewhere else "if they just do it right." It won't. If you think that way, turn around and go back. You have to become a new kind of person in your new home. It will feel strange, but it will work. Think logically with your mind, not feel-good with your heart. That latter is not a way to run a city or a country. Get used to having neighbors that own guns. Get used to people going to church. Don't try to ruin our schools. Most of them are already infiltrated by the kind of people that ruined Illinois and who are ruining most of the colleges. Forget pushing "multiculturalism" and "tolerance." Yes, new people should bring along their culture, but they need to learn American culture and respect it. No, you don't have to tolerate everything. That is foolish. If someone wants to change OUR culture to make it like there's, explain that that won't go. Maybe if the people who leave Illinois do it right, some day they may be able to return and rebuild the ruins that once was a great city.

When I lived in Minnesota, I heard radio ads touting South Dakota as the place for small business.

Quality of life is inversely proportional to number of ferals and illegals.

Research taxes by all means. However, your most important task is to research demographics.

It's population density - More people = more a$$holes. Alaska wins hands down at 1.3. Next best is Wyoming at 6.0

Kane used to be the most conservative county in the state but it went for Hillary in the last election. I am beginning to think can no longer deny that this state is a lost cause.

I was born in the Glorious People’s Utopier of Massachusetts and spent the last 12 in the Live Free or Die State of NH as one of a dwindling number of conservatives.

After being asked by management where I wanted to move to manage my new territory in the center of the country, I have moved myself and my family remnant to just outside of San Antonio, Texas and have been here for five days. So far so good!

I have an inkling that the net effect of property / state income taxes / sales / fees and other costs (demographics) could net out the same or even be negative and then throw in moving expenses... it’s just baffling. Let alone all of the attachments that have kept me and my family here this long. My disdane for the Illinois legislators that have betrayed the residents of Illinois is peaking right about now.
