SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- The Illinois Senate voted to override Gov. Bruce Rauner's vetoes of a $36 billion budget package Tuesday, including a $5 billion tax increase designed to start digging out of the nation's longest budget crisis since at least the Great Depression.
The Democratic-controlled chamber completed its work within 30 minutes of the Republican governor's vetoes, sending the package back to the House for an override vote that would give Illinois its first annual budget since 2015.

moving tax already exists for states like that: U-haul charges premiums for one way rentals from states that have a net outflow of population because it costs them so much to drive the empty vehicles back to those states.
Down state, you are Chicago’s slaves. How does that feel?

Need them to stay out of redneck hillbilly Alabama also. Way too many out of state tags over the last year. I can feel it, they are going to screw up north Alabama. Our high tech engineering, manufacturing, and military work in the little paradise will get too many of the screw ups.

I disagree, the governator (small g) didn't compromise with the dems, for all his posturing bushiite he is and was a dem at heart. He pulled the wool over Conservative's eyes, and shame on us for swallowing his bull the second time, but all he ever wanted to be was Kennedy and he sure as hell got the morals part down pat!
IL people will never figure it out.
I think what’s happened is that the more conservative minded people have left for bordering states, and turning them more red.
