Want to fight climate change? Have fewer children

Next best actions are selling your car, avoiding flights and going vegetarian, according to study into true impacts of different green lifestyle choices

The greatest impact individuals can have in fighting climate change is to have one fewer child, according to a new study that identifies the most effective ways people can cut their carbon emissions.

The next best actions are selling your car, avoiding long flights, and eating a vegetarian diet. These reduce emissions many times more than common green activities, such as recycling, using low energy light bulbs or drying washing on a line. However, the high impact actions are rarely mentioned in government advice and school textbooks, researchers found.

Carbon emissions must fall to two tonnes of CO2 per person by 2050 to avoid severe global warming, but in the US and Australia emissions are currently 16 tonnes per person and in the UK seven tonnes. “That’s obviously a really big change and we wanted to show that individuals have an opportunity to be a part of that,” said Kimberly Nicholas, at Lund University in Sweden and one of the research team.

The new study, published in Environmental Research Letters, sets out the impact of different actions on a comparable basis. By far the biggest ultimate impact is having one fewer child, which the researchers calculated equated to a reduction of 58 tonnes of CO2 for each year of a parent’s life.

“Want to fight climate change? Have fewer children. Next best actions are selling your car, avoiding flights and going vegetarian.”

All very good suggestions that should be applied to the “new populations” moving into Europe, as that continent was already stressed almost to the limit BEFORE the “new wave” came. After all, the “new people” should respect the customs of the countries to which they are immigrating.

We did our part. Four good conservatives, last one just turned voting age and all ask my advice.

One lives in a liberal bastion I call Berkeley East. She was glad to have the day after the election off work, because her co-workers would get mad at her constant smile.

More inane bs babbling from the Intellectual Yet Idiots, trying to tell us how to live, eat, vote and the desire to run and control our lives.

Nassim Taleb Exposes The World’s “Intellectual-Yet-Idiot” Class!

What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.

But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligenzia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence and fall into circularities?—?, but their main skills is ability to pass exams written by people like them.

With psychology papers replicating less than 40%, dietary advice reversing after 30 years of fatphobia, macroeconomic analysis working worse than astrology, the appointment of Bernanke who was less than clueless of the risks, and pharmaceutical trials replicating at best only 1/3th of the time, people are perfectly entitled to rely on their own ancestral instinct and listen to their grandmothers (or Montaigne and such filtered classical knowledge) with a better track record than these policymaking goons.

Indeed one can see that these academico-bureaucrats wanting to run our lives aren’t even rigorous, whether in medical statistics or policymaking. They can’t tell science from scientism?—?in fact in their eyes scientism looks more scientific than real science. (For instance it is trivial to show the following: much of what the Cass-Sunstein-Richard Thaler types?—?those who want to “nudge” us into some behavior?—?much of what they call “rational” or “irrational” comes from their misunderstanding of probability theory and cosmetic use of first-order models.)

“Let’s just have fewer liberals.”

Amazingly, as they have aborted millions of liberal babies over past decades, that is happening.

That is why the liberals want open borders to repopulate America after those they have destroyed by abortion.

The Western World is already in decline for population growth (having children). It has already reached a point that countries like Canada cannot sustain the current demographics and is the main reason for immigration. The United States is not far behind. This article begets the concept the world is overpopulated so we should all stop having children. There is a monument in Georgia (USA) that says this very thing. People in the Western countries need to increase the number of children they have to more than 3 to even recoup the losses. But hey, don’t say anything about the mooslimes who are outbreeding everyone and has made it their mission to do so. No, it is the Western Civilization that is the problem, not the poor countries who still believe they need 6 children when they arrive in Western Countries because in their countries they need to overcome the infantile mortality rate to have children reach adulthood.
