Only if the feds legalize it. Transporting legal state weed to another legal state across state lines would get you 10 years in the federal pen.

Oil lubricates machinery.

Dope lubricates people.

Legalized Dope it makes it much easier and smoother for the government to separate people from their money.

That’s why the government doesn’t want competition from Non-Government Operations, like the Mexican drug cartels.

The "emergency" is that there is a demand for a HEAVILY TAXED commodity that is not being met.

So much money that could have been flowing into the state's coffers, but isn't.

THAT'S the emergency.

If President Trump(I love typing that) wanted the whole Russia thing to not matter to a HUGE block of Democrat voters anymore...this would be a great time to legalize it. If he wants to sweep all 50 States in 2020.

Legalized Dope it makes it much easier and smoother for the government to separate people from their money.

Interesting and perhaps an accurate conclusion, despite the govt ability to cut of its own nose despite its face.

I admit I have a conundrum with the legal arguments for and against legalized drugs. In the last year now as I am driving to work I now see huge billboards advertising "Marijuana is here". I am very put off by this. Why?

I understand its a states rights issue, but governments at all levels have become corrupt and they now use the excuse that legalization of pot is a necessary source of income. Well, it had to follow from legalized gambling I suppose. No concern for any moral or health issues. If that's the case, why not legalize prostitution everywhere, or all vices for that matter? Hey, its just another revenue source.

There was a time, or so I thought, when govt gave some consideration to the national needs, like having an educated workforce and a healthy pool of male recruits for military service. Legalization in the way it is being handled is detrimental to both those national goals, sending the message that rather than keep a healthy mind and body, its ok to toke up or worse.

I have never, in my entire life, taken an illegal substance, despite the opportunities that have presented themselves over my years. I suspect I am a minority, and I don't hold it against someone who has experimented. I guess I don't really care what people do in their own back yards either. Some may handle this responsibly. Many other don't or can't. It (marijuana) winds up behind the wheel, on the job where mistakes can kill, and yes, for many its the gateway to hard drugs, pain, and family destruction.

Just when I thought we were restoring some degree of responsibility to our federal govt, I see the inner rot of state govts eating away this nations future.

FEMA is enroute. Meanwhile, the governor has called on neighbors to help each other out, just like in the old days when a flash flood would wash the bridge out and no one could get to the store in town...

🚬💵. The lines on opening day were like someone was giving away 3,000 sq ft houses. And for several days after. Maybe it slowed due to shortages but still very active.

Tax is 35 to 38% on legal weed depending on locale in NV.

That’s crazy. I’m sure that put a crimp into the illegal dealers business model and sales projections!

Interesting point.

What we see happening should cause some rethinking of the idea of decentralizing some federal programs to the states.

The accepted wisdom is that state governments would be more conservative administrators of government programs than the federal government.

However that "common sense" notion doesn't seem to apply across the board.

And I would definitely not want to see a constitutional convention as many conservatives have been promoting.

“What we see happening should cause some rethinking of the idea of decentralizing some federal programs to the states.”

Personally, I would rather a few states are screwed up - than the entire govt. Those states that fail, act as signposts for what NOT to do.

Otherwise, I share your concern about the CoS. For me, it’s a case of “the devil we know...”.

I Doubt it. Consider what the legal stuff costs. What is selling in the store for 400 an ounce is being sold for 160-240 from the illegal grower. A stoner doesn’t care who they buy from....it’s about the quality and cost.
